Thanks guys, your knowledge is outstanding. It appears to be a homegrown East German device based on a rocket pod. Shouldn't be too difficult to scratch build one. 😊

I think it was used by the LSK in East Germany. http://

I'm currently building the Airfix 1/72 Lightning F2A and I was just wondering if anyone knows what this panel is? Also is it NMF and is there another one on the opposite side? Thanks for any help.

F-5E Mexican Air Force 1/72 Italeri

Really well done Mexican Tiger. Excellent build. Can I ask which paint you used for the tan colour? -
I would recommend these NVA decals by TOM Modelbau. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tom-modellbau-72001-nva-luftstreitkraefte-1956-1990--191401 They come with a useful A4 sheet explaining the history of the LSK markings and how they were applied over time. Some of them were actually decals. 😀

How far aft was the astrodome moved?

I thought that Airfix did a P/F-51 in 1/72 scale fairly recently or did I just imagine that? What is wrong with that kit?

AFV Club 1/48 F-5N in VFC-111 'Sundowners' colours

Outstanding build. Love that. -
I have used them with decent results. You can reuse them as long as you replace them on the backing sheets with care - I'm not saying how many times they would work though! Here is a SAAF Mirage IIIRZ I built from the Revell 1/72 kit using a topnotch mask set. I used my airbrush so can't say how an aerosol might work. You should aim for several very thin coats. I let mine dry completely before removal and had no issues.

I converted a 1/72 Airfix Gr.7 a while back and I used a 50:50 mix of Vallejo Reflective green & Pastel green (70890 & 70385) for the underside Lichen colour. Whilst for the top colour I went with Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green. I think it turned out OK. Hope this helps and good luck with your build.

That is a top build. The weathering is exceptional and very realistic.

South African airforce Blackburn Buccaneer

I think that is where mine came from. The AS.30 missiles came from the spares box. -
South African airforce Blackburn Buccaneer
old_tonto replied to GiampieroSilvestri's topic in Aircraft Cold War
IIRC the S.50 was essentially a Buccaneer S.2 so that would be a good starting point. I used the Airfix 1/72 kit to build mine. If you want to do the delivery scheme like this you only thing you need to source are the bigger slipper tanks. There may be more differences as the Buccs were upgraded over the years and they may have had mods fitted during the Bush War in Angola. Sorry I can't be more specific. -
This is great work Tony. I have an old poorly built Javelin FAW9 that I was going to bin because so much of the kit needs fixing but I might hang onto it now and see where this goes. Keep the updates coming.

I was just wondering the same thing myself.

Deffo a 19P and PM would be great in the one true scale.

Just out of curiosity, what is wrong with the Kovozávody Prostějov MiG-19 kit in 1/72? I have one in the stash ready to build.

That doesn't look simple & outdated to me. It looks authentic. Top build.
