  1. That would make sense Graham, the Mk XVI more than enough range for the Greeks.
  2. I did quite a lot of research on this subject a few years back when I was working on my Spitfire project. Unfortunately I can't find my notes at the moment but I do recall that rockets were popular during the civil war particularly when trying to attack communist insurgents hiding in caves up in the mountains. They often carried drop tanks too. Image here
  3. That is an outstanding build Dragan. I am currently working on the same kit and it is a real pig to work with.
  4. That is correct. Ironically Airfix used an image in their own promotions showing the real aircraft with the KK-2 so that can't say they didn't know.
  5. Has anyone seen the sprue shots of this release yet? I'm assuming that there must be an additional sprue with the later ejection seat as only the first few hundred produced had the KK-1 seat.
  6. I agree entirely VC. The Esci F-5A kit is still the best early F-5 even all these years later. This DreamModel kit looks like a re-hash of the HobbyBoss effort to me, even down to the short windscreen. Those bombs look way too fat as well. I'll save my coin and hope that Wolfpack deliver the goods. I still have plenty of Italeri Tigers in the stash, enough to last me a few years yet.
  7. Any help with colour call outs would be appreciated too. http://www.makettinfo.hu/forum/image.php?img_url=upload%2F201101%2F44f_usn_f-5e_160793_544_fighter_weapons_school_1987.jpg
  8. Thanks Barzin. I will try to get my hands on some of those.
  9. I've read that Iranian F-5E & F-5F Tigers use Martin-Baker IRQ-7A ejection seats. Can any F-5 experts out there confirm this? Also does anyone know if a 1:72 resin example is available? Thanks in advance.
  10. Excellent progress on your Farmer. I'm building an East German example at the moment and I had the same problem with the instructions and air scoops. Good to know it's not just me.
  11. You've hit the nail on the head there Wez. I've just built the Airfix MiG-17F and whilst I'm a little disappointed with the lack of interior, wrong seat and other mistakes it is still the best Fresco out there. Scale wise it is spot on, some details missing and others a little clunky. I found fit around the nose was terrible but that could just be me. Overall I'm happy it is finished but I won't buy another.
  12. Could this kit be used to build a South African Air Force MR.3?
  13. That is a stunning build. The weathering is spot on as is the load out and finish. I'm gonna have to get me one of those Tamiya kits.
  14. Can anyone tell me what the external differences are between an F-4E & F-4F? Is it a simple conversion?
  15. Thanks guys. this is all really useful information. I think I'll try to find the Hasegawa kit as the build is likely to end up sitting next to my Hasegawa F-4E. Cheers guys.
  16. Greetings all, I am looking for some opinions about 1/72 Phantom kits. I am planning to build an Imperial Iranian Air Force RF-4E but am at a loss as to which kit to buy. When I say best I mean relatively easy build and looks like a Recce Phantom. Alternatively does anyone make a conversion set that would meet my needs? Thanks in advance.
  17. Interesting subject choice John. I came across this site whilst researching Greek Spitfires: http://imansolas.freeservers.com/Aces/Gree....html#Helldiver Keep the pictures coming.
