  1. Approval has been granted for the purchase.
  2. I'll leave the printed works to better informed members here to advise on, but I found the three parts from Kermit Week's interview with Igor's son Sergei, to be very entertaining and informative indeed!
  3. Here we go once again! I suspected that once the rabbit-hole had been entered, CAD & 3D printing would be the next adventure in Airscale land! Can't wait to see the results.
  4. F-16's use them, located on a dedicated pylon under the engine intake.
  5. What way will music head with the introduction of AI?
  6. Very sad to read. On a nicer note, it is great to read in their conditions, that they will happily store rider's gear. As a motorcyclist it is always "challenging" to store helmets/jackets, etc, so "well done" to the museum for catering to this need!!
  7. I guess that shouldn't be ruled out, but if they have gone to the expense of developing the majority of the components required for a "B", then why not follow that route instead of paying another manufacturer for tooling/royalties? I guess time will tell?
  8. Yup, remember it from long ago. Me, running around on a Leander, certainly helped work out where certain compartments were located. The double companionway up to the bridge was a real "head knocker" if not paying attention...
  9. Maybe the 26yr old was on a date with the platypus? (makes a change from the sheep jokes)
  10. "manikins"........ ? The people from Americaland have a LOT of explaining to do. Thankfully they don't use the English language.
  11. 2018? The T-38 fleet is very tired and need of replacement, but just wondering about replacing with like for like approach, instead of spending $9.2 billion to develop new "everything" (A/C, simulators, suppl & logistics chain, parts, etc).
  12. I'm guessing that Guard units have added to the useage rates of these too? The concept of getting an existing airframe and upgrading it, would be a sensible approach for everyone. The latest stealth platform isn't always needed in combat op's, so using something which does the job, would be a good option. I'm currently wondering what training command will come up with as they look for replacements of T-38 and T-45 airframes. Perhaps placing an order for more of these (new builds) with a few updated electronic gizmo's would be the best way forwards (especially for the taxpayer).
  13. I remembered that my boss inherited an rs6 version. He drove it for a while then ended up selling it on right quickly when "repairs pending" came to light! Also, an apprentice had an rs4, intil it decided to haemmorage itself on the motorway. Sold for scrap/parts. He now rides a nice Yamaha R7 instead, so a win-win situation!
  14. The only rational explanation of that box art, is the types and quantities of mind-altering drugs that were being consumed in the "swinging" 60's. Some serious impressionist artwork there!
  15. Perhaps put a sign on your front door to the effect "No - I don't own the audi parked outside" or similar?
  16. On the plus side, another of those horrible bits of junk crashes (hopefully not to return to the skies and insult us with its presence, ever again!). (Yes, I hate NH-90's).
  17. It appears as though this is a situation that encompasses all of Europe. Refilling the units (battalions, squadrons, etc) after the "peace dividend" nonsense has come home to roost, should allow a considerable boost for most countries armed forces. Sadly I can see politicians being involved, so no chnce of seeing things painted grey/olive drab very soon.
  18. After viewing the footage of the pilot getting his medal, I suspect he has access to the local pie shop and bakery. I don't know how the fatty fitted into a fighter cockpit, unless they had provided him with an XXL sized fighter.
  19. "Something" has been developed that has managed to reach out and touch Kalbre missiles on the railroad in the middle of Crimea. It's also interesting to find there is a specfic Ukrainian word for russians' "who smoke cigarettes too close to munitions located far from the front lines"... There certainly will be a lot of modified & improved drone systems revealed for us modellers to build, once Ukraine wins this war.
  20. I see they did the same with a Turkish Bayraktar drone. Plodding along at 20k ft and ~70knots. Unstable when the wake turbulence was encountered, but full recovery made. They need some AIM-9's on them... just saying.
  21. AVSPEC's have been advertising locally for staff, specifically for this project. Woodworkers especially.
  22. I'm guessing the pilots are now wearing a shiny new medal for their efforts. International borders mean nothing. Salisbury poisonings...
  23. Just... Wow! That girl has been out in the Pacific sun for quite a while.
  24. I like the painted cockpit outline on the underside of the fwd fuselage too! Perfect for defending the Elbonian mud farms?
  25. Coming along nicely & that woodgrain looks great! I stumbled upon this recently:
