  1. You're definitely adding the detail to this build, thank goodness that i build in 1/700. Stuart
  2. Think I better post something here... Three wing sections joined together. Had a few seam issues with this bit and it has take a number of fill-sand-prime-repeat to get it looking nice. References refer to an engineers hatch that was located behind cockpit, under the engine. Apparently, this hatch was also while in-flight, not just when landed, better him than me.! Engines painted. Decals to be applied to the rocker covers and then they can get weathered. Stuart
  3. And away we go and as is usual, we start with the cockpit... Very little clean-up as we've come to expect from Eduard. Bits primed. I used Colourcoats Light Weatheworks Grey enamel for the cockpit, it's a light blue-grey colour, not clear in pic. Coloured PE parts added. Rear facing view of the cockpit. The cockpit parts had a wash of Nuln Oil but Citadel. Forward facing view. Lovely looking I/P, cockpit is looking nice an busy, pity it'll be closed up and very little seen. Stuart
  4. Now I like that, looks very racerish. Lovely job. Stuart
  5. Well Pat, my High Planes racer looks like a bigger bag of nails than yours! I tend to take on lost causes like yourself and if it was my build, I'd drop the flaps for interest. Stuart
  6. @Corsairfoxfouruncle @CliffB @IanC @stevehnz @Wings unlevel Thanks guys, much appreciated. It seems to be my 'go to' to add a base to give context and something to give it scale. Stuart
  7. Nice detailed work with the tools. Bit early to ask this question but I might forget to ask. Tank tools, are they generally painted the same colour as the tank or would they be with their own individual tool colour? Stuart
  8. What they all said, great work Chris, not an easy colour to lay I believe. Stuart
  9. I think I'll be going for a Russian silver scheme as it'll be going on the ceiling with a Sabre. Stuart
  10. @beefy66 @robgizlu, cheers guys, much appreciated. Group builds have there place, they can focus the build within a time restraint which helps with stash reduction, not usually a place for ships though. @echen, thanks, I'm sure your 'Shot Kal' will look great. @Bullbasket, cheers John. A simple base is my go to, gives it context and the figure gives it scale. Stuart
  11. Hi All. With the Centurion complete, I thought I'd knock out this MiG-15 using the Eduard Profi Kit in 1/72. This will be built OOB with the wheels up, the only possible addition will be to add a pilot. Box art. Three sprues of plastic. Instructions, clear sprue, PE, masks and decals. Stuart
  12. Hi all. Here is my recently completed build of a Centurion Mk. V MBT using the Ace kit in 1/72. This was built as part of the the 'Baby Boomers' Group Build. Build log here: Had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this kit; love the detail but hated the parts count, the clean up and fitting. I have a number of Ace kits so I know what to expect in the future. Thanks for looking. Stuart
  13. Here is my effort for this GB. Centurion Mk. V MBT 1/72 Ace kit 6th RTR, Port Said, Egypt, 1956 Stuart
  14. Can't believe it has been nearly a week since last update, faffing about doing other stuff... Knocked up a simple small base. Completion not to far. The Cent is now complete and destined for its base. See you in the gallery. Thanks for following. Stuart
  15. Glad you've sorted window-gate, prime coat looks good. Now, don't shake bl**dy thing again! Stuart
  16. Cheers for the support guys. To improve some structural integrity with fitting the wings, I've added some plasticard to give a better gluing surface. Clear glazing has been fitted although I'm not sure why they made it clear for the three porthole windows but I think it'll work out better. Upper and lower centre sections now glued together. Outer wing sections readied to mate with centre...looking rather futuristic. Stuart
  17. Cockpit details painted. Added seats and control column. Hull sides fixed into place, looking like a couple of boats. The joins all round are not brilliant, so gloop will be used to correct them. The windlass was a little awkward to fit but got there in the end. While the gloop dries, I'll turn my attention to the wings... Stuart
  18. Good work Mike, particularly like the 'snowy' X-Ray Land Rover. Will go and read your build log now... Stuart
  19. The tail and rudder are thin, so thin that I daren't risk it with metal wire. On top of that, the rudder have decals on them and the look over size, so it'll be best to fit decal rudders, cut to size and then fix them... Needed to stop the thinking on interior colour. Decided to go off piste away from the suggested grey and went with a woody colour and gave it dark wash. I decided to go this route due to the cockpit. With aluminium items in the cockpit with a grey interior, it would look a bit monotone, so with a wood interior the details will be more noticeable. Next step is to paint and fit the anchor, its windlass before closing the hulls. Stuart
  20. Decals on... Front view Rear view. Here's my 3D printed commander from Evilbay with its primer coat on. Not exactly the right outfit for Egypt(?) but I'll do something. Stuart
