There are a couple of photos in the 4+ Wessex book, the cabin is essentially similar to the HC.2 layout, with addition of a rescue litter suspended from ceiling, and various first aid, resuscitation packs etc. mounted around the cabin. Walls and floor are covered in waterproof material. I won't post copyrighted images but if you'd like a photo of the relevant pics I'll PM them to you for personal use.

Westland Wessex HU.5 underside pictures requested
AntPhillips replied to dov's topic in Aircraft Cold War
You're probably right, the designation may have been unofficial but the 12 aircraft were modified with a different equipment fit: External: Overall yellow paint scheme Larger winch, with 300 ft cable. Extra antennae for additional navigation equipment Flotation containers on main wheels for overwater ops Internal: Wet floor, essentially a waterproof liner covering the floor and part way up fuselage sides Specific SAR equipment such as First Aid kits, stretcher, hoisting strops/slings, Oxygen resucitation kits etc -
Westland Wessex HU.5 underside pictures requested

Hi dov, In the UK, both the RAF and RN provided civilian SAR cover, in the Wessex era the RAF used the Wessex HAR.2 (a SAR configured variant of the HC.2) whilst the RN used the Wessex HU.5 (interstingly they used the HU.5 desigination irrespective of SAR or Commando role). Hope this helps. Ant -
There was a pic on BBC a few nights ago, showing an aircraft marked 617-PWLS, not sure if it was a current or archive photo.

IIRC MonoChrome were associated with Trumpeter a few years ago, with several kits being released under both labels, the 1/48 Wyvern being the first that springs to mind, along with the 1/350 USS Wasp LHD. More recently the name has appeared on several Academy & Minicraft kit boxes. I'm not sure about their origin or exact tie up with Trumpeter or Academy 🤷♂️

Forgive me if youre already aware but don't forget that the "air conditioning" unit on the fuselage top just afore the wing was also smaller on the early versions of the Hawkeye. The build is looking great so far 👍

Glad to see everyone survived the outage, hopefully some modelling got done while the source of distraction was down 🤔😉🤣

Yep, everyone seems to have missed Amos's comment to that effect in his post with the pics 🙈👀

Airfix 1/48 Sea King HU.5
AntPhillips replied to jacks.mini.painting's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Great to see it finished, you're probably right the oil dotting probably took the weathering just that little bit too far, I thought the finish on the last WIP pic before the masking tape came off was just about right 👍 Nevertheless it's still a great looking model, we all live and learn, and I'm sure the next project will benefit from the new skills you've learnt along the way. Out of interest what have you got planned next?- 13 replies

Another who had Fischer Technik here, in fact I'm sure it's still in the shed, having retrieved it from the loft when we sold mums house 10 years or so ago. Meg who was about 5 at the time did play with it briefly, but preferred Lego Friends etc.

AntPhillips replied to fightersweep's topic in The Rumourmonger
26 Decals, already have a few sheets for the Skyvan, quite like the look of the Gulf Air colours. http://www.26decals.com/..skyvan -
The kit No. is down as A09178, thats the number of the 1997 kit, still a good kit that holds its own.

from a fellow Welshie , not too far from you either, I'm over in Neath. On the whole we're a good bunch of plastic addicts here on Britmodeller.
