  1. Assemblidge time. The kit itself is excellent, top engineering however a few points for those yet to build it. I'm not going to detail this model up, the cockpit area is superb, a little cage. Tip - the sidewalls are a little out of whack and will need to be clamped into place against the fuselage sides. The wing trailing edges are a little thick, I scraped these down with a curved scalpel blade. With the fuselage and wings together, I do my usual thing and paint the join lines after a first sanding to check for any flaws. Only a little bit of filler needed here Unfortunately not such a good fit around the engine cowl panels. It will pay to dry fit and test repeatedly until the best fit is achieved While after a bit of use aircraft engine panels do get a bit bent and out of shape, it often doesn't look right on a model. At some point you just have to commit and glue the thing...and here's my commitment. It would have been easier with a one piece cowl or the thing being moulded into the fuselage. Other than these minor niggles this is a superb buildable kit from Airfix. Andrew
  2. I went to see that film four times when it came out.
  3. I sat down yesterday afternoon for a cup of tea and a digestive biscuit when this popped up on YT. Area 51 videos I've seen are usually are a lot of word fluff and not much substance except for beautiful landscapes but this one's quite an interesting video. The only downside is the amount of 'Bro' and 'Dude' in the commentary which I believe is a non-binary affectation our American cousins use when they're literally super excited. These guys are self-admittedly not aviation enthusiasts so forgive them a few misconceptions.
  4. Hampden? Beaufighter Pilots notes show the collapsed seat but not very well enough to model to be honest.
  5. Stuck at work at the moment away from my books but when was the nitrous installation done? Andrew
  6. Some additional context for the films https://collections.rafmuseum.org.uk/story/experiences-in-england/ Andrew
  7. Sardine transport, not quite WW2 but good spotting JWM. My AV blocked a threat on the postimage page when I clicked on the image, just for notice.
  8. Non-taken at all, I shouldn't have made the assumption that anyone who doesn't know me would have automatically known I wouldn't have meant Glycol from the 190 😄
  9. Yep, that's what I hadn't managed to work out in my head on the drive home.
  10. And I worked out why on my journey home tonight from Woolloomooloo; because, Andrew, windscreen wash just ain't man enough to cut through oil thrown back by the engine. The fact that it came from a pressurised source makes sense else it would vapourise I guess. None but the petrol bowser, ammo trucks, personnel wagons...
  11. In my best Australian accent "Yeah.....nah!". why did they use petrol when plenty of 'Glycol' would have been available?
  12. Looks a good one to pop along to, so I shall. Andrew
  13. Just a little bit of almost then and nowing, house behind the soldier on the edge of the airfield is still there
