  1. fantastic build, love this one, well done. Fondly remember these cars from my youth regards Ian D
  2. A great win for Kris ahead of the inaugural McRae Rally Challenge in a couple of weeks time, http://motorsport-events.knockhill.com/events/mcrae-rally-challenge but lets not forget young Elfyn Evans, who got his first podium win at the same event, looking forward to having two Brits fighting for the Championship in the future, as it was with the late great Colin McRae & Richard Burns, two great drivers who I had the pleasure of working with in the past. Regards Ian D
  3. Grahame, the cars are basically painted in a grey primer type paint. Grey paint has less pigment so is lighter in weight (some 5kg saving on a WRC Fiesta). The external bodywork is sometimes pained where required but the majority of the external graphics are a plastic wrap. AST signs do all our wraps both for the rally cars and the Bentley racing cars and associated service trucks. Dash is a black flocked type effect to avoid any glare from sunlight coming off the dash https://youtu.be/0bGqwk1VyiM http://www.astsigns.co.uk/ Regards Ian D
  4. Here are some interior pics of last years WRC test car as used by Ott & Elfyn, am working on test end of April/ may if there is anything else I and help you with picture wise (no engine shots allowed I'm afraid) Regards Ian D
  5. are these of any use to you, not sure what they are originally off, may need some fettling to fit (I think they are from an airfix kit) 24mm dia I have shown the back of one in the picture http://flic.kr/p/i11jpU Sorry having trouble getting a direct download regards Ian D
  6. Can I join in too please, having not built anything since moving house a couple of years ago (I'll not bore you with the details), my new years resolution is to get back into the workshop. It will more than likely be an Airfix 1/24 oob build to try and get back into it, I will see whats in the stash. Will make a start on Sat as I'm away on a Rally test all day tomorrow. Regards Ian
  7. CTM (Czech Truch Models) do a etch set for the Routemaster, a bigger set than revell and at 22 euro, more metal for your money, also a floorplate set at 24 euro http://www.liaznavzd...ctm_eur_v03.pdf (page 4, 10 & 21) have used this firm before for truck stuff and can reconmend. regards Ian D
  8. I missed out on the group B cars, starting working on the WRC scene in the early 90's, I do still love watching the historic section of clubman rallies, especially the escorts and sunbeams, still look and sound great charging through the forest.( Many of these events wouldn't be able to run without the entry fees of the historics) here is some footage of Petter in Greystoke forest last week, a Castrol PR day, I managed to pull a few strings and recall every favour I was ever owed to get my wife a run in the car for her 50th birthday surprise. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/iv9KL8glt80?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Regards Ian
  9. The Italeri kit is very slightly different (I have just bought one for my current project) it has pallet boxes slung underneath instead of under run bars. If these can be scratch built quite easly, the kit also would benefit from the addition of p/e curtain sided buckles from Mick at M&G (A67) http://www.mgmouldin...accessories.htm. I realy need to get going with it as it is required fro Christmas !! regards Ian D
  10. Numberplates were discussed on the forum a few days back, this is another route you could take, the discussion was for 1/12 bikes but works for cars also. http://www2.britmode...topic=234923349 regards ian
  11. you could go the route of some of the modern race transporters, workbenches down either side and the car parks on the workbenches, although roof clearance may be a problem for a saloon/rally type car, could work for a single seater. regards Ian D
  12. OOO! missed that one, many thanks for the heads up.............I'm off to the i player cheers Ian D
  13. Hi Paul, the subject has been covered here, some good tips http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...1&hl=decant hope this helps regards Ian D
  14. Nothing in the stash, but I'm sure I will find something by the time we start...........I'm in. regards Ian
