  1. Thank you Jeroen, getting the dirt to look convincing was one thing I was worried about.
  2. A slightly modified build. I posed steering wheels and figure to create some movement interest and subtly reconfigured the suspension to show some slight cornering compression. It was an enjoyable build I hope you enjoy the pictures. Comments always welcome.
  3. Thanks Paul. It is a Revell kit that I bought yonks ago. From what I remember the truck parts were moulded in white plastic while the racing parts were in a different colour, brown I think. it appeared to me that Revell took a standard Merc truck kit then added a couple of extra sprue's to give you the racing truck option.
  4. The multi piece body sounds familiar now you mention it. 1955? no wonder it made me sweat 😃 It's a great looking car and I like how you've built it so perhaps I'll get me grubby mitts on a Monogram / Revell kit and give it another go. Cheers Paul, stay safe
  5. Very nice! I built the '37 Lindberg Cord back in the dim and distant past and from what I remember it was a bit of a mare. I wonder if this is a Monogram boxing of the Lindberg kit. Whichever you've done a magnificent job
  6. From sow's ear to silk purse..... What can I say that hasn't been said already except; stunning absolutely stunning
  7. I normally like my super cars with an Italian flavour but I have to say your Porsche is a real head turner. I can't see a single thing I don't like. Cracking build, well done
  8. Very nice indeed I've got a soft spot for the Tilda which looks exceptionally well in your caunter camo. Excellent.
  9. Gosh that's good! I particularly like the weathering
  10. Thank you Alpha. I agree, It's crazy racing with some slightly dubious tactics that adds to the excitement. It's a bit like dodgems on steroids 😃 Thanks Keith. It's been a long since I've posted here but I've a few projects in the pipeline nearing completion. Stay safe t'uther side of the water chap.
  11. Hi everyone I hope you're all well. I haven't posted for a while so as a reintroduction I thought I'd share this racing truck from the 2011 (I think) Motorsports group build. I hope you like it.
  12. The 2nd Dragoon guards, The Queens Bays, were my Uncles old regiment . He was a tank commander who fought with them throughout the African campaign. Wounded three times, twice seriously. He's 92 now, alive and well and living with his Italian wife in a flat on our family farm. That's an absolutely cracking model which I'll show him tomorrow.
  13. Hi folks it's been a while. My lovely wife has given me a fantastic get well present, the Das Werk Faun L900 tank transporter. I have a very keen interest in the WWII North african theater of operations and after much searching found out that this vehicle served with the DAK. As something a little different is my intention to build the Faun carrying Italian light tanks and armoured cars. My question is this; I understand that early in the DAK's deployment armour and softskins were delivered to the desert painted in the standard German gray and then overpainted in desert yellow in the field. Would this have been the same for "rear echelon" (for the want of a better phrase) vehicles like the Faun tank transporter or would they remain in their original German gray? Thanks in advance, Dave.
  14. Cracking model! It’s very nice to see a tractor here. Well done sir.
