speedy Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Looking at starting my Bucc (Matchbox) soon. Mainly looking at cockpit stuff and tanks/wing detail.....
Obi-Jiff Kenobi Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 According to Hannants, Aeroclub do an undercart, refuelling probe and arrestor hook, designed for the Airfix kit though. They also do a canopy, no specified kit, but I suspect Airfix again. Airwaves do an etched detail set for the Airfix kit, and a wingfold set for the Airfix, Matchbox and Frog kits. Aeroclub do bang seats too. Flightpath do a set of ladders which includes 'some other details,' see here: http://home.clara.net/djparkins/fltpath/fpmaster.htm If you find anything else I'd be interested, I recently picked up a Matchbox Bucc due to shortage of Airfix ones, and not enough cash for the CMR kits.
bexwh773 Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Knowing you Speedy, it will be a cracker, heres one I prepared earlier OOB. Bex
Howard of Effingham Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 hmm, scale aircraft modelling mag also do a couple of bucc' upgrade sets for the airfix kit [radome, tailplane, pylons, etc] these resin sets are worth having and can be adapted for the frog and matchbox kits too. as for decals best bet is probably model alliance or xtradecal.
AnonymousA667 Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I have the Aeroclub white metal parts and the Airwaves PE. Although designed for the Airfix kit it shouldn't be a big deal to adapt them to fit a Matchbox kit. peebeep
Paul Bradley Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 They've got the main things. I used the Aeroclub resin seats and Airwaves PE set on my Frog kit. and scratchbuilt the rest of the detail...... Incidentally, a top reference for the Bucc is tis website: http://www.blackburn-buccaneer.co.uk/
speedy Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 brilliant info and reference website - cheers.
Obi-Jiff Kenobi Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Nice Bucc Paul, and in the right colour scheme too
Paul Bradley Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Cheers, guys! I have the Matchbox kit as well, so am keen to see what our resident Boscombe Geek does with it.......!
Pat C Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Brilliant job Paul Here is a pic of my attempt at the same kit. Knowing how long it took me to get this looking half as good as yours I salute you!! What did you come up with to make the inner wall of the intakes? I shoved a rolled up piece of paper in mine held in with white glue. It actually worked rather well. SAM also do a "Gulf War" resin set - useful as the Matchbox kit has neither weapons nor pylons. But crucially, it does have two crewmen!! Pat
speedy Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 I've got an idea..................... Penny dropped at Telford. At the moment i'm doing the GR5 prototype in the Green colour (as most of the reference photo's are grey), then the B(I)8 Canberra; that should take me up to crimbo. After that i fancy the T5 Lightning and then the bucc......

At the ends, I placed the Airwaves compressor blades. Simple!

Stephen Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I heard a rumour at Telford that the Airfix 1/72 kit may be back out next year. Stephen
