  1. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm the Mighty Sabre, I think I just wet me pants. That is awesome wish I had it on my shelf.
  2. Thanx, Mike I managed to fix the twist, Daz not yet but I've got two to do it's basically the same kit with a longer chassis.
  3. Chains from model shipbuilders supplies, this one was alot of fun. All comments welcome.
  4. The figure was adapted again from the old Peerless kit, that was a real trial trying to adapt him to sit correctly and hold the steering wheel, many many amputations but a good learning process on adapting figures. I wanted to make him black partly to score brownie points with Jonelle and because blacks were relegated to the support roles in WWII and this is a 3rd Army vehicle and Patton had great admiration for his black soldiers, basically a tribute. Though my limited figure skills and painting black people convincingly is not easy. Cargo came from various sources, tissue paper tarps, crates made from toothpicks, the peerless kit donated an axle too.
  5. The trailer came from the old Peerless Max/Italeri Dodge command car kit and recieved a fair amount of tarting up. The base is made from some off cuts of stone flooring I picked up off a job site, cool because they are'nt the usual size and shape of most bases, just white glued on some real dirt, pebbles and model railroad grass
  6. This is possibly my favourite model built thus far AFV Club WC-52 Beep. Like all AFV club it is superbly engineered and goes together beautifully. Two things to watch out for though I don't like to call them criticisms 'cos it was partly my fault. Like all AFV Club trucks there is a full enging that needs to be built, the instructions are a little vague on fixing the radiator and it can easily sit on either of two steps on the chassis, be warned all the body panels line up with the radiator and I put mine in wrong probably about 1mm to far back and too high and ended up with a very twisted looking truck, managed to fix it all. The wheels attach with poly caps and are a bit wobbly so you need to check your alignment after you set it down.
  7. All the AFV Club Jeeps/Trucks do come with full engines that you have to build to avoid the "see through" effect but nice if you want to open up the hood. The rifle is Humbrol Metalcote Gun Metal, spray on, leave for 30 mins and buff up I just love the stuff All comments welcome.
  8. Now here's a sweet little kit the AFV Club M-38 with recoilless rifle, built totally out of the box and I've got zero criticism of it, exactly how a kit should be.
  9. Thanks all, Nev I think its the flash making the figures look glossy 'cos they aint but yeah I think a bit more dust is in order. The figures are suprisingly good compared to others you find in more expensive and recent kits.
  10. Built out of the box except for I tarted up the leather tonnau (?) cover with some stretched sprue piping, Airfix just give you a super flat smooth piece there and it took forever and a really wierd French web site to figure out exactly wot it was supposed to be. and getting the driver in hands on wheel is damn nigh impossible, and of course she was ignored among all the super perfect pearl gloss Hot Rods at our cruise night but did manage to pick up a third place at last year's OrangeCon. All comments welcome.
  11. Every July my I.P.M.S. chapter has a "Summer Cruise" night all about cars. I don't like cars, real or models but I do like to participate in my club so the nearest thing I had was the venerable Airfix Monty's staff car. It's very old, more flash than parts, ejector pin marks exactly where you don't want them, fits where it touches exactly what you'd expect. But it can be built.
  12. Alright I actually finished this a loooong time ago but never took any pictures, and like i said rarely spend time on the computer these days but seeing as I was wide awake at 5am this Saturday morning thought I'd share while I wait for the sun to come up.
  13. The plunger may be stuck in the open position, take it fully apart, use a micro brush or q-tip with thinners to clean out all the way down to where the air hose attaches, clean all parts. Then put some lube on the plunger, trigger assembly, and needle and re-assemble, it's worked for me before.
  14. The old Hasegawa one is nice too and kind of inbetween the Airfix and Tamiya. Comes with a two bladed prop, flat canopy and nice fabric on the tail and control surfaces it's what I used for my Mk.I. You'd probably have to scour E-Bay to find one though. The Airfix one can easily be tarted up with bits from the Revell Mk.V and the cost of both those kits together is still less than a Tamiya.
  15. Awwwwwwwwwww aint she cute! Very Tasty!
