Leaving it late for this GB but I did sign up or it so here's my entry. This has been sitting in the stash since mid 1997 so it's about time I got around to building it. 🙂

The plan is to build the night fighter version with the aerial array, assuming that I can get them off the sprue without damaging them.

Unusually for me progress has been quick so far. I started off with the 'boring' part, drilling out the holes in the wings. 🙂

Then it was on to the cockpit, which was painted RLM 66 with a bit of dry brushing to follow.

With that done the fuselage was closed up and the wings and tailplanes added.

There are a few gaps that'll need a bit of filler which should be done tomorrow.

Hi,

it is indeed a nice little kit, and you do build really fast!

Keep enjoying it.

Thanks everyone. Since the initial flurry of activity things have slowed down considerably ( thank goodness for the two week extension), but after some filling and sanding on the wing roots it was painting time using Humbrol and Revell acrylics.

I had heard that the canopy fit can be an issue wit this kit but mine fitted perfectly.

More soon.

Hi Tim,

well I am only slightly behind you on the painting of this kit. I feel better knowing I am in good company!

I really like your painting. It is going to look great.

Lucky you that the canopy did not cause you any trouble.

Almost finished.

Have fun.

Thanks Jean. Regarding the canopy, I know that mine is an original issue whereas yours is a later one so it seems that something happened during the intervening period that meant that the canopy didn't fit in the later issues, although I can't think what it could be.

Since the last update the decals have gone on so there's not a lot let to do now.
