John Masters Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 This was a fun kit and I enjoyed building it. Some different plumage than the usual US, which I also like to do--different plumage, that is. Paints were all Vallejo and Vallejo Air...oil paint pinwash...Decals are from the superb Xtradecal Sheet for 19 Squadron. This is the fifth 19 Sq aircraft I have built so far. Some aircraft are in the queue for assorted GB this year and I will be building others along the way. Next up is a Phantom, the last aircraft to be officially used by 19 Sq before they disbanded in 1992 and became a reserve unit. Don't worry folks...I have at least 2 Spitfires lined up...😄 Here's some Mustang pics... --John 40
Wulfman Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 A lovely looking Mustang, great stuff ! Wulfman 1
John Masters Posted January 12, 2022 Author Posted January 12, 2022 Thanks @Wulfman! What's next? Spitfire or Phantom?

It's not often I get over to this neighbourhood on the Forum. There is a different crowd over here. Thank you all... I think I'm going to build Spitfire Mk I K9794, the one without registration numbers that crashed into the fence in Digby. I have a nice Tamiya kit and the correct decals from the Xtracolor sheet.
Epeeman Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Wonderful work on your Mustang, John Out of interest, I live in Gravesend and my housing estate (Riverview Park) was built late fities/early sixties on the site of the former RAF Gravesend airbase. Regards Dave 2

Regards Dave ...many years ago, I used to live on Riverview Park too - what a small world! My parents bought their first house there in 1959. I always imagined hearing the sound of fighters whenever I wandered along the old perimeter track - now sadly all gone. Now here's a lovely Mustang to add to the memories too - that's a lovely model John - very nice! Cheers, Andy 1
