  1. l had often thought on these biggies that you make a display on the ceiling at the corner with a wall. have the front and bottom clear and a mirror on the top to see it. It is just a thought on it and whether it would work it another story Hacker
  2. http://www.cmkkits.com/en/aircraft/spitfire-mk-vc-raaf-service/?cmd=show&imageID=49393 Currently l am almost done my four 1/32 Spitfires Mk IX. l was sitting there the other day looking at my stash on the shelf above my workbench. l got one hobbyboss 1/32 Mk Vb which would be a nice kit but my eyes see the fatness of the fuselage and it just does not look right. l got two Hasegawa Mk Vbs on the shelf, Mk VI and one MkV fuselage. l had earlier came across the above RAAF Mk Vc which would not be hard to do a conversion to one of the Hasegawa kits. l have a spare tamyia Mk IXc sprue ( BB sprue ) with what l need to convert the Mk Vb to a "C". My main problem is again ( always the same old story with me and my choices) is finding markings which in this case is RAAF one with the white tail ( sorry like it ) Do any of you chaps and gals know who has these markings? As for the hobbyboss one well l going to marry the spare hasegawa fuselage to the wings. l have already dry fit them together and it will work. The span is spot on just there will be a thin gap to fill but it is doable . Hacker the magnificent ( yeah right )
  3. On the bright side of this l know for a fact that the Philippine Air Force are about to acquire some of these planes to replace their aging Broncos. I think there is one last hurtle to go before the approval is given. hacker
  4. http://bit.ly/2v52bcD Have a look here. Nice to have first war German aircraft Camouflage colours
  5. l have a Cutting Edge conversion in my stash somewhere. It's meant for the old Hasegawa but if memory servers me correct it will fit the Eduard kit as well.
  6. ok found this old subject . One of my current builds l am doing a dessert Spitfire Mk IXc . For this build l am using Testors Model Master. Usually l do not have a problem with their range of colours but this one seems too yellow. Now do l darken it with some brown or do l use another colour to darken with?
  7. Factor this in also. I pay $10 a month or roughly $100 a year with 1Tb of driveone space free plus a very good word processing program compared to $400 just for 500 Gb of storage space at quadruple the price
  8. I also have an office account and 1 Tb is a lot of storage! Compared to 2Gb. Seeing l already have it and paying for it l might as well use it
  9. At first it indeed had cordwise panels on the wing and it was paint in an automotive paint which was French Blue ( whose paint l am not sure ) . After the cirst test flight and acceptance by the Ministry of Defense it was taken back to the shop and reskinned with panels of the Mk I minus any gun bays etc, that came later. The finish was then a combination of bare metal panels and one painted in Zinc chromate. At its end of it's career ( it cashed beyond repair and scrapped ) it was a fully armed Mk I. My best suggestion for the Zinc Chromate panels is spray them a polished Aluminum the mix some Tamiya clear green and clear yellow until you get that apple green colour then spray those areas only. Use standard Aluminum for the rest
  10. Here is a question. What is the difference between the first issue the "G" model and the Fortress III? The reason l am asking is that the reviews l have seen all the parts are there for the latter including the radar nose. So other then the decals what other changes?
  11. Which is probably what they will do otherwise why have a separate sprue for the fuselage?
  12. noticed the Pam Am markings are missing ...at least on the box art
  13. really the canard is horizontal stabilizers from a F-18. Still like you i want one
  14. on take off on some aircraft the wheels go up then upon landing they come down. ok now l am leaving
  15. l use those too but for the cockpit areas l like the wash l make as it darkens the paint giving it that dirty used look
  16. For cockpits l use a mixture of 50/50 future floor care and water with a couple of drops of tamiya black. It works on both acrylics and enamels
  17. Having build both Revell A and D in 1/48 plus having the 1/48 Hasegawa D in the stash my next want is either the 1/48 Italeri or Academy D but which is better? Not having a opportunity to view one in the flesh l have to ask those who have. Main question is how good is the cockpit?
  18. nice work. l got a 1/72 l have to finish but l need to know the length of those wing struts as mine are all either too short in the kit or missing completely
  19. l would be curious to know that the external differences is between this one and the one that was flown to Japan back in the day. I think it was an A version
  20. I bought one last week and it is winding it's way to my house as we speak. Ah the smell of styrene in the morning but of course a cup of coffee first thing
  21. following this one as l intend to buy one myself
  22. Even 1/72 l was looking at a Special Hobby Ju 388 and it went for $100! But l keep looking for one at a fair price if there is such a thing
