Vampire damages runway at Halfpenny Green
junglierating replied to Jimbobtheflimbob's topic in Real Aviation
Hmm it looks like it's been there for a while ....can't imagine halfpenny green(never heard of it) has an awful lot of income to look after taxiways .mind you some of the European military airfields we used to visit either transisting through or detatching too were pretty shoddy -
Doubtless there will be a get out cause for the contractor....unless there is a BS with a kite mark for runways

Hmm my post earlier didnt attach. So regarding XV107 (considering changing my name to XZ457)...I am decidedly out as to my opinion of op black buck....whilst it was a fantastic example of fag packet and cuff it British get on with it attitude ...esp the logistics The PR with the look what we can do from Lincolnshire attitude was a great example of theatre....i mean that in a nice way.Tactically it didnt really achieve much that said if you are at the end of 20K of HE even if it misses then it all counts. Meanwhile if you ever slag of FAA bombheads again ....im going to hunt you down and give you a sound talking to . Music....A is for armourer B is for armourer C is for.......... -

Like to remind everybody the for the 30 years or so that harriers of all varieties operated off CVS decks ....they did not have an indiginous refueler. So yes something will probably come along its a useful capability to have but like a lot of programmes you might have to have a capability gap... times are tough and drivers change constantly......having x number of assets looks great on paper until you realise that you need y to support it. So you have less ....of x .....look at the Posideon....9....not many but they will be capable -
Cor....i did that hunter I used some tamiya x28 park green....kinda looks ok.....wonder how close it is? Still got to find some roundels with white trim for it.....kinda stopped when I had the problem of the RAE/IAM crest.

Hmm not so sure about that one mate lets face it after 1972 when the Eagle was decommissioned there was only the Ark (the one before mine!) and I didn't see the Toom and Buc guys having any issues keeping current. Presume that they may have used American carriers on a rare occasion. I don't know this for sure but its a mute point as we have two carriers ....and I am sure they will be marvellous. No seriously from what I am told F35 is super good.know where can we get a easy to maintain Utility helicopter that everyone will want to buy ..not knocking the Merlin its seems better than it Airbus Helos equivalent. By the way the light blue target flag thingy LMAO not a chance ....although I note the person in charge of the programme is a Crabfat.....love em' couldn't eat a whole one lol -
Why so glum chum.....is it that hard to get paints where you are?... I guess if you have to import them then you will be that much more careful with them....that said i've still got some compucolor....who remembers them? I have one that is the exact shade for an RAF Sabre ....some sort of blue .
