Thanks for that Dan, Mike.......wow you are right that is one talented modeller......

Well its here, it's stunning. May have to move on my old tamiya kits at scale model world. So I know there have been a few builds on here, does anyone have any tips on this one? Without sounding like a rivet counter I spy a lack of anti-slip.... any ex tankers out there able to tell me if mk.11's were covered in it, and if so where was it applied? Rich

Fantastic work so far, look forward to seeing it at SMW 2015. I think the Hunter is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built. My uncle, sadly long dead was responsible for sorting out the casting techniques for the gun tubes....apparently there was an issue with them shattering on early aircraft, it was down to the metal cooling too quickly so I'm told.

Oh man I gotta get me one of those, I remember the RAF scrapping a couple of them at Cosford back in 1989. I was lucky enough to ger a control yoke and radar set out of one, donated the radar to a local museum still got the yoke.

Old foxtrot replied to tomprobert's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Congratulations on the new addition, having seen some of your previous stunning (and ridiculously huge) builds. I have to ask....where the heck do you keep them? Do you live in an aircraft hanger? Cant wait to see it finished... Rich -

Just gotta share this, I have just brought some of these true earth washes from Italy. Used them today on a Tamiya MK V male that is on the work bench. They are fantastic, I highly recommend using them on armour. The fading I have achieved is amazing..... sorry if I'm not supposed to plug products on here!!! Rich

Vulcan Farewell tour - Southend viewing spot?
Old foxtrot replied to JeffreyK's topic in Real Aviation
Its only a matter of time I'm told. I go up to Baginton quite often to see her run up. They are a good crew up there.....plus they support our wings and wheels event at Halfpenny Green every year. -
Emhar 1/35 Scale British 18 Pounder WWI
Old foxtrot replied to yankeemodeller's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
I think the problem with uniforms is due to numerous manfacturing no two batches are the same colour. Same as the old arguments with US ww2 uniforms! Great build though looks fantastic. -

Absolute poetry in motion, she's a gorgeous old girl. It really does break my heart that is over tomorrow, nothing worse than seeing a dead aircraft. At least they are keeping systems live when she is retired. Lets hope the other big Avro at Baginton is up and flying soon........ -
You probably got a better view of the Vulcan than those at Cosford.....feeling a little miffed!!

Just got back from Cosford, disappointed.....whoosh she was gone, blink and you missed her. Oh well will hit Wellesbourne tomorrow, hopefully that will be better. -
Damn didn't see this...... Blue skies Allan, RIP.

Bit rubbish?....... Don't sell yourself short, fantastic build. The base sets it off very nicely...

Any idea when she will be at Cosford.... gotta go see her one last time. Dammit I know I'm gonna end up blubbing!!! -
No idea what has happened to armour models, I have used them for ages. The web site went down about 6 weeks ago and I haven't been able to get in touch with them....real pity as they offered a great service. Hopefully they will be at scale model world next month. If in doubt most Polish dealers take paypal, never had any issues buying from Poland... all in all normally a good service, some times quicker than ordering here in the UK!

1/72nd scale Martin Mars and Boeing 314 Clipper
Old foxtrot replied to Rob Probert's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Those are stunning, The Mars is my all time favourite flying boat. I remember seeing one in flight back in the early 90's while on holiday stateside. It was an impressive bird. -
It's coming along nicely. I have the version without the bar armour, think I may have to grab one of these at telford. Great build so far, keep up the good work!
