  1. Thanks for all the comments. I did get the idea from a Tamiya catalogue years ago. Theirs were off of the sprue. I made a Lysander for my dad with all the parts off of the sprue. Think they look better attached tho.
  2. Love it. We'll played Sir! Have one of these in my stash, any problems building her?
  3. What a cracking sunday, bit of model building & alot of F1.

  4. Greetings fellow modellers, I present my what if viper, hope this is the right place for her. Its a great kit (revel), painted using Ford Moondust silver & brush painted with humbrol enamels. Have added some scratch built extras, recce pod underneath, ball turret at rear under engines. Decals are from a lightning. Hope you enjoy, as always comments are greatly welcomed. Thanks for looking Hockeyboy
  5. I present my go at LS models 1/144 Sundowners Tomcat. Kit won on ebay for a couple of quid. On opening some good detail, but also, no seats, no cockpit, no shoulder pylons, no tanks, only Sparrow missiles. How do I make something good from this. Well please enjoy the following pictures & as always your comments are greatly welcomed. All brush painted with Humbrol enamels. Firstly the box, then a WIP picture & finally the completed model. This will now go in a deep picture frame & up on the wall. This is the third model I have built in this way, but none of them are as good as the first one I made for my Father in Law which was a 1/48 Spitfire shown below. Like I said before thanks for looking. Hockeyboy
  6. Final update before hopefully posting in RFI 2mrw eve. Had a few problems with decals, just doing finishing touches to the sparrows. Getting the display sorted out. Hope you like her.
  7. That's very nice. Have one in my stash. Hope it looks as good as yours.
  8. That's a lovely looking Flanker. Love the colours. We'll played Sir!
  9. The oh Dear 1/144 Tomcat is close to being finished. But is it good or just art with a capital F !?

I'm in the same boat - got overconfident and messed up one of the skull and crossbones decals, but otherwise it should turn out reasonably well.

  10. Very nice. I do like brush painting with humbrol enamels too.
  11. Lovely jag sir. Been toying with buying one myself. Any problems with the kitty hawk kit?
  12. Another update. For all the problems with the kit, the decals are ace if a little on the small side on the fins. Lovely & thin. Glad I painted the tail white otherwise it would have been a grey & red sundown!!! Still on for a weekend reveal.
  13. Fantastic build. We'll played Sir. Will be following every step.
  14. Am I a modeller or a collector of kits? Some I have plans for, some are spur of the moment, others are locked safely in the garage, yet still I find myself going hmmm yes I do need to buy this kit!

And to prove the point I have just ordered Tamiya's Ducati 916. Another one I have plans for that will end up in the stash then moved to the garage for safety!!

And me, the Panigale .. and the Hase new Su35 :-) Remember, they are worth more in their boxes than built up !! ( I know that's not the point though)

The panigale is next months addition to the stash!!

  15. If your still struggling I also have a spare decal sheet. The kit I bought for my Daughter had two sheets inside. Let me know if you want it.
  16. Update. So the painting is almost complete just a few patches of red todo & grey on the canopy. Then I can klear cote, decal & matt varnish her. After that it's then a matter of how best to display her. If your wondering on lack of photos, it's a teaser! Don't want to give too much away, but it will be different! Hope to have her done by this weekend. Thanks for all the views & comments
  17. Update. All glued together, filled, sanded, primed & first coat of Tamiya NATO Black sprayed on. Now comes the fun part of masking it up for my experimental camo.
