Nice project! Try to straighten it out in hot water, but be careful not to break it!

Hasegawa shape wise, Academy has better represented detail according to most. Skip the old Italeri/Revell versions if you want something good!

Tornado IDS Luftwaffe Revell 1/48 - finished!
exdraken replied to exdraken's topic in Tornado Warning STGB
Thanks, that is what I thought... but maybe I missed some important detail! No, fit is not better, but detail is a bit! Your CMK set is more detailed in that area it seems! Probably/hopefully the wheelbay fits better when using the Aires pit.... -
Hard to tell! All other Brazilian jets currently wear 2 tone camo.. so there is hope at least for the Brazilian E/ F!

I am using Aires stuff, so sanding is a must and decided to hack it up and use the kits upper roof wheel space instead the Aires one.... sorry for the dust! main bays are definitely an improvement! and fits! wonder if the GR1 Löök set is not the better option than the Revell IPs? we are talking early 90ies I suppose! what would you reckon? difference lies in a screen in the back, and the center screen in the front.... mostly! -
there is a fantastic WIP here on Britmodeller explaining how to do the Revell 48 Tornado easily, without fit troubles but out of sequence.. where is it! I can't find it !! who can direct me to it please?

thanks everybody! thanks, you know, the wrap around scheme not really fit my decal selection I saw one done in Cornwall 25 years ago... as a gate guard, do not remember exactly were, but its shear size made an impression on me! more likely I do another Pirate if another RAF one ! but my double boxing has either a Navy or a SAAF Bucc if I understand correctly! some more pics, today in better sunlight: open -closed thanks, Werner

I knew someone would come up with these PC-7s.. I'd take one if you show me one available here in Europe at a fairly decent price.... that is 40-50€ max...I know, still very expensive! did not know about the PC-9, thanks! seems that they are done in Croatia... https://www.ebay.com/itm/L-M-resin-kits-1-48-PC-9M-Slovenian-AF-bonus/333594280141?hash=item4dabc4c0cd:g:EzgAAOSwX~hetjxB

that is what aires has on its webpage.... that is what the kit parts should look like: https://www.tornadosig.com/uploads/4/2/0/0/4200523/_9368860_orig.jpg Tornado (front) cockpits over the years and operators seem to be quite complicated to track down... -

I have not gone into this yet... but if necessary, aires have an early and an ASSTA upgraded pit: https://www.aires.cz/en/product/tornado-ids-early-v-cockpit-set/0-3967/#lightbox/0/ https://www.aires.cz/en/product/tornado-ids-assta-2-upgrade-cockpit-set/0-3938/#lightbox/0/ the difference is the PE fret it seems, although I am not fully convinced by early and mid production as it is stated on it.... ther are more screens in the early than in the mid version -

This is going to be a classic German green green grey Tornado (Norm 83) .... most likely with the new MW-1 by Aerocraft models I know, not very imaginative.... but does anyone have an Italian Tornado with the MW-1 loaded? supposedly Italy has/ had some as well.... ❓ alternatively I'd load it with some Matra 250kg retarded bombs... some of the ingredients Revell kit with gaudy scheme... probably some of the decals/ markings can be used.... not sure of that though!... alternatively I also have an Italeri kit 2668 with some markings... but also for the new Norm 95 scheme... what is the difference markings wise? walk lines? size? .... Aires wheel bays and nozzles Montex masks Brassin BOZ pod? was it used? not shown: Quickboost cannon nozzles probably some resin seats somewhere and wheels..... lets se what the stash has for me the MW-1 it is quite huge!

Definitely a yes! But Pilatus aircraft are only very badly served in 48... There is a PC-6.... yes, but No PC-7 (some resin models are/were out there only) No PC-9 ( but at least an expensive hard to get Texan II is out there) No PC-12... Not good at all!

Absolutely great model! Congrats! Another vote for a new 48th model
