  1. They at least saw sense and decided on Ella.
  2. Birth certificates are a rich source of strange, true and idiocy. Fortunately most governments have laws to protect children against ridicule, confusion, hatred and embarrassment. New Zealand, like many countries, has a list of names not allowed. You can't name a child Saint, as well as Prince, King, or Royal. A couple also tried unsuccessfully to name their kid the Roman-numeral name III. A girl in New Zealand was actually named Talula Does the Hula from Hawaii. When she turned nine, the case was taken to the NZ Family Court, probably not just because of the name. Talula's parents lost custody. Portugal has the opposite - a list of names which are allowed. Foreign names are not permitted if the child is born there, except if one of the parents has another nationality. Babies must be given one of the names in the approved list. While Tomás wouldn't be a problem, naming your kid Tom or Thomas would be. In California names with accents or diacritical marks are not allowed. José would have to become Jose.
  3. Nah - Stickers is better! I had a set of those stickers about 10 years ago and gave them to a modelling colleague. They looked okay but broke up even with Testors Decalcote (which is much better than the paint on versions).
  4. Thanks to both of you. Excellent information! That's a good point re RCN crews - you can bet Australian ones were even less formal. Nice pictures - foul weather indeed! PS - found the Sumner/Baker book in my e-files - it's very helpful.
  5. What would RN crew on a smaller ship (sloop, destroyer etc) be wearing in foul weather in the Medterranean during WW2? Is there a book or a web page with pictures and colours? Pretty small scale so detail is not required. Would the RAN be any different?
  6. It doubles as an anchor!
  7. In response to a couple of requests the Botophucketed pictures have been deleted and updated. Mentioned in this thread https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/72nd_aircraft/2026-spasm-display-australian-themed-mustangs-t14116.html and note the 1/48 version is not yet available - maybe no demand?
  8. If you are after an Australian one (1/72 initially) wait for the Red Roo version. We are very slow but we usually get it pretty much right. We love KP kits - so much to do! We are still working up a good Cessna 180 military......... we are sooo slow (overtaken by snails).😀
  9. RAAF instructions called for it to be the same colour(s) as rest of upper wing. For an exception, a photo is essential. The Xtradecal instructions (via Scalemates) call out a dark colour for at least four of the schemes. Printing error? Mis-interpretation of the metal tank vs fabric wing?
  10. Very strange - after years of leadership of the Australian distrusted brands list Qantas is NOT currently the most despised brand in Australia. The order could change as Coles and Woolworths have made a strong charge aiming to top List 2! Almost as strange - a bank on the trusted list! Equally strange - after years of trying Australia Post has made it on to the trusted brand list. This also could change . 10 most trusted brands in order Bunnings (Hardware retailer) Aldi (Supermarket) Kmart (Downmarket retailer) Commonwealth Bank Apple Big W (Downmarket retailer) Myer (Upmarket retailer) Toyota JB Hi-Fi (Entertainment retailer) Australia Post 10 least trusted brands in order Optus (Telecommunications) Facebook Temu Woolworths (Supermarket) Coles (Supermarket) Tesla Qantas Telstra (Telecommunications) Shein X (formerly Twitter) (Source: Roy Morgan Poll 2026)
  11. At least they are now not worried about your testicles!
  12. Let us know if you get a refund. I have seen the kit unbuilt and, given the circumstances - rare subject, limited run etc - it does not look as bad as you make out. I am sure I could make a nice model from it.
  13. There is a larger picture in the Wikipedia Anson article (you may have to click on it to enlarge it) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/83/Aircraft_of_the_Royal_Air_Force_1939-1945-_Avro_652a_Anson._C2119.jpg and a flightsim version here https://flightsim.to/addon/96926/avro-anson-no-321-dutch-squadron-k6285-mw-f A different angle picture is in this thread. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235114710-avro-anson-mk-i-tail-aerials-rigging-what-is-it-for/ Ther eis one in the Dutch museum painted as K6285 coded V but it does not seem like a WW2 paint scheme. https://www.airhistory.net/aircraft/1060/Avro-652A-Anson-C19-1 Without the Dutch triangle it would be a 217 Sqn Anson.
  14. More likely rolled into position, turned upright then secured. The guys who wrote the period Handbücher for the Ju52 presumably understood loadmastering and physics.
  15. 1. I am not a moderator - just someone asking a simple question. The moderators take a dim view of flame wars though. 2. That is exactly what I asked you to do previously. Reading the previous posts, it looks like Krayer either repackaged German paint OR made their own paint to more-or-less the same specification OR did both. In modelling terms, it does not seeem to matter that much. At least my WM-21 will be about right.
