  1. Lovely work so far, Giorgio. I always thought the FROG and Academy cowl front was undersize ( ie the cowl tapers too much at the front) making the resulting model look a bit comical. Any thoughts? Martin
  2. I mis-spoke. There wasn't a G-6 from Revell. I just hoped there would be a G-6 from their recent A-4 / A-1 boxing.
  3. And G-6.
  4. Not really my thing, but it appears that AZ / KP can confound the cynics occasionally.
  5. It's sonetimes fun to explore counterfactual events in kit form. I personally like RAF / FAA '46 with Hornets, Tempest Is and IIs, Lancaster IVs et al.
  6. Vintage classic reissue: Hs 126. Thoughts?
  7. The Ju88 - as has been mentioned earlier - is a gap in their 72nd range, as is the Do 217. I also wondered if there would be a gap for the Firefly in the same scale?
  8. Removed.
  9. The light grey is important in the mix, imho. Adds some 'dirtiness' to what would otherwise be a pure - if pale - pink.
  10. Some pics of the kit in question. Please don't judge me on the interior of the wheel wells:
  11. The undercarriage legs are a tight fit in the nacelles. My advice: join the undercarriage leg assembly pieces together, having drilled out the locating holes somewhat and ensured the locating pins fit snugly. Then set thes3 assemblies aside until they're rock solid. Then drill out the location holes on the nacelle sides (particularly the rear ones) as deep as you dare, and perhaps cut down the locating pegs a bit. They do fit, you just have to fettle a bit.
  12. The cowling chord is too short, circa.
  13. Hi Gondor, Thanks for replying. The Jay's Models conversion is of course designed for the Heller kit, so you may have to fettle the width of the nose to get a flush fit. The depth of the JM nose was less than the Airfix (or I made a mess of it somehow). I lined up the upper cowlings, and a fair amount of filler was required to deepen it at the bottom. Also, I needed to file down the upper wing root fairings to match Airfix's. Finally, the Airfix u/c bay surround is *very* close to the panel line you have to cut to to install the radiators. Expect a degree of fettling to be required! All quite doable, but better to be prepared, I think.
