We have all had that James May moment with lego. It goes to prove how popular it was in our age and remains and how versitile Lego is in the hands of a 6 year old.

Great work

Two great builds, I still have my Lego including some of the Technical Lego and Space sets.

How about a Lego eurofighter next!

Brilliant Jamie, looks great, James May watch out!

Jamie,

Challenge No2 if you are up for it.

How about a display team, I know the current one is red and there may not be enough red bricks so as it is a what if lets call them the Rainbow Arrows!

Might keep him quiet for a while Mark.

I will fully understand if you don't want to break up the ones you have already built to complete this challenge, I wouldn't want too.

Cheers,

Warren

These models are superb! I love them all, but especially the VC-10 with interior detail.

Some nice models there!

They remind me of the lego aircraft I used to (and still do) make, in fact Ive got three built under my bed right now, loosely based on a AN 26! I like trying to build real aircraft in lego, I built a TU 16 once and a XB 70 :D

Awesome Lego work! I really like the Chinook. I think the aircraft looks a lot like a Sentinel R1.

Reminds me of one time when I was about 8-ish I decided to make a Wellington out of Lego - and this was in the 70s long before Lego started making all the bespoke pieces like engines and rotor heads and things. Sadly no photos of my creation were taken but I used red bricks for the fuselage and engine fairings (including the bevelled pieces to create a more "accurate" shape), and white flat bricks for the wings, fin/rudder and tailplanes. The props were built using the standard 1970s wheel axle component (remember the ones with red 4-dot wheel hubs and removable black rubber tyres?) with thin flat lego strips as the prop blades. I spent hours and hours scouring my Lego collection for parts that would enable me to finish the build and, once complete, I was really proud of it. I kept it for a number of weeks then dismembered it. Really, REALLY wish my parents had taken some pics of it so I could show it off again today!!!

Wow!!! That was a real trip down memory lane! :clif:

Cheers,

Mark

You can always borrow his Lego bricks to make jigs for your own models. I bought a box of Lego for that very purpose!

Well... that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :analintruder:

For me, Lego is like a model kit of whatever aircraft you want to build

Jamie,

Challenge 2 complete and looks brilliant, well done.

I am away from the PC tomorrow so no challenge from me, but if anyone else wants to take the riens I don't mind.

I think in true WIF spirit, he should be allowed to build whatever he wants!
