Blacktjet Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 Hi, Blacktjet. Thanks for getting back to me. Were the plans worth buying in terms of content? These drawings were advertised as die line drawings only but there was more on the sheet than I was expecting - detail u/c, interior layout etc. Just could have done with cross section but i can do those from these plans. You need to read the description for each set of drawings because they do differ, from just three view drawings to superb engineering drawings
coanda Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Ok, thanks - that gives me confidence to move forwards.
xffw45343tg Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 With the recent BA BAe 146, I thought it was time to bump this thread. Any more progress Blacktjet? My stash wants one...
Blacktjet Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 With the recent BA BAe 146, I thought it was time to bump this thread.Any more progress Blacktjet? My stash wants one... Had to shelve it for a while, due to other commitments but working on the wings and tail plane at the moment.
xffw45343tg Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Worth another bump. How's it coming along, Blacktjet? (Incidentally, did you know that the 146 is the only aircraft that participated in the 2002 Jubilee flypast that is not available in 1:72?)
richellis Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 BTW I know there is a posibility of a 1/72 coming along from a large well known company.
xffw45343tg Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 'Bout time I bumped this again. Any progress? Can I buy the master? Kirk
Blacktjet Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 'Bout time I bumped this again. Any progress? Can I buy the master? Kirk Shelved due to post 32!
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Yes, Welsh models to the rescue. Hey Blackjet did you ever finish your 1/72 C-17?
xffw45343tg Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Ahh - Welsh! (My aging brain didn't get the "well known company" hints). Anyone know if this is imminent enough to put on my Christmas list? Kirk PS/ Yeah - how's the C-17?
kev67 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 If you are going to do this as a resin kit are you going to do the wings in 2 sections top and bottom, as my one gripe with Welshmodels kits is that they have the main wing as one whole resin, so not allowing a metal spar to be attached to stop the resin from sagging after a while, Anigrand seem to have separate wings with their kits though. I have bought many plans from the company you bought yours from, and some plans are very good as you mention with quite allot of detail but others are just basic line drawings, I also have the BAE 146 plans in 1/72 , my Vickers Vanguard plans came from them and is also very good.

Kirk PS/ Yeah - how's the C-17? Looks like next year. A comment dated 3rd October on the Welsh models website states: 'We are making good progress on the B727 mould in 1:72nd scale, and have started our BAe 146 version in 1:72nd scale which will hopefully be with us in 2013.' xffw45343tg Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 D'oh! The link I followed didn't take me to their homepage (where the above news quote still resides, plain as day) so I feel a bit dim having emailed them for approximate timeline. I'm also a bit disappointed that it's resin - rather fancied this one as a (lighter, cheaper) vac. Ho hum.
Blacktjet Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 Hey Blackjet did you ever finish your 1/72 C-17? Ages ago! It was built for a friend who couldn't be bothered to wait for accurate decals to come from drawdecal, so I didn't see the point in tacking any pictures. I think I have one quickly taken picture on file, I'll post it if anyone is interested.
Canalguna Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Hi, anything new about this one? Definitely needed... 1
Blacktjet Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 I am going to resurrect this one, it was shelved because of the rumours of a 1/72 scale release from a mainstream manufacturer. 1
xffw45343tg Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Revell Welsh Models I thought. They have a resin 146- here. Looks good but all resin which is not really my thing. I'm hoping that someone (ahem) is thinking vac form...
Jessica Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Welsh Models I thought. They have a resin 146- here. Looks good but all resin which is not really my thing. I'm hoping that someone (ahem) is thinking vac form... If we're dividing rabbits, those are the master patterns over which the moulds for vacforming will be made. I'm pretty certain that Densil will be making this one in the same format as his other 1/72 kits have been made recently: vac fuselage with resin wings/tailplanes and metal details. 1
xffw45343tg Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Alas, I don't think I should be cleaving leverets with you Jessica; Having re-read the whole thread I see that it is Blacktjet's model that will be full resin and Welsh's is indeed listed on their site as multi-media. I guess my daydream of a full vac 146 was wishful thinking. Or senility. KIrk
