corsaircorp
Hello Gents, Following a bet with @jrlx I'll ask to join that great band of wet feet modellers. Knowing myself, I did'nt start a great thing since it must finished in January Since yesterday, I Wonder, did I join in ? Or not ? But wich will be my entry ?? Martin Marlin, Catalina, Kingfisher, none of these could be possibly finished in time. Then I saw over the cabinet... This one I picked her up with the idea of selling her on evilbay, since I have 2 of these... Seem to be a decent kit with a funny diorama base WTF ?? But, can get Something out of this, will be a first... 10
greggles.w
... looks like a kangaroo jumped in that diorama base ... What colour scheme will you be going for? Edited September 3, 2017 by greggles.w
corsaircorp
So, Thank you, hope that the subject will fit the GB.. Given the figures, that seem to be 1/48 but that's so tiny !! That will change a lot from the P-47N Now the painting... I don't know what to do, Netherland AF or Australian AF Which color, paint metal like this one ? Or from Qantas in australia like that one ? Seem to have been painted in green or Brown ?? Up to you Gents, just let me know what's the best choice for you Because I'can't decide myself Have a very good modelling time !! Sincerely. What colour scheme will you be going for? A big kangaroo, for sure. Precisely my Dear.... I don't know and I can't decide myself. Dutch one in metalic paint will be the easier, but there has been painted Dutches too... Sooo, Is there any Flying Dutchman here around ??? Just let me know what will suit the best for this GB. TonyTiger66
Hello CC, This is a nice choice of subject. As far as I know, all Ryan trainers put into Australian service had the floats removed. They were left in Rose Bay (nice beach in Sydney) with them on for long enough to be photographed, but those were NEI aircraft; all with floats removed before Australian service/registration. Aussie Ryan's: http://www.goodall.com.au/australian-aviation/ryan-stm/ryan-stm.htm My vote goes for Royal Netherlands East Indies Air Force Ryan's. The STM may be slightly different to the '20', I can't remember. I knew three weeks ago, it's been a hard month . I don't know if any at 'Little Norway' in Canada has floats. That was a lovely paint scheme. I would still go for the Netherlands East Indies ones. I like the base, it's water, that's why the floats go in so deep. You could have quite some fun painting the water effects on that Best regards TonyT PS: Look at the page on the link, around 4th photo down; painted 'green with orange triangle' Dutch East Indies Ryan's; on floats . JOCKNEY
Hi CC Great choice, given that the Netherlands are your neighbours I would build theirs, rather than the Aussie one ! Right come on now no more shilly shallying please, time to crack the whip and get on with it Given that you have till December, you could sneak another small one in before the end cheers Pat
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Ok 2 for the Dutch one ! Let's see if Australia will react ! SWMBO is back, will be a little bit less present Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello dears, Surprising, the cockpit will be easy to do ! And the engine too ! Seriously, I can't let it that way ! On the other hand, using the diorama base is pretty tempting. Sooo ! I will use one of thes little guy ! put him on backseat and creat the front cockpit ! Both the 2 of them seem to have fun ! The fit of the fuselage seem good ! But there is always a devil in the box and he's lying here ! Will find some docs since there's a lot Spadulent rigging on the floatplane, I already holed the wings. Should I find some evidence, seemingly the japaneses have captured a lot of STM In japanese colors that can be fun too ! Ok Model finished, let me introduce you to the STM stealth ! That will be fun, I think ! Ok Gents, have a very happy modelling time ! More to come soon. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, A last one before get to bed. was wondering about the Menasco ! Havin' a print or a resin mock up and Bling ! Special Hobby has been kind enough to give us 10 cylinders for the Roc's perseus ! I opened the other intake, I think that it will be the carb intake and an oïl cooler ! On the other hand, the Roc need a gunner, so one of the little guy will be exchanged for the surplus cylinder ! Good deal ! Have a nice modelling time and take care ! Sincerely. jrlx
Hi CC, Welcome to the GB! I'm glad you accepted my challenge to join You have chosen a nice little floatplane. The parts seem to be well moulded and there's room for some scratch building of the cockpits As can be seen, you haven't wasted your time! I'm starting to wonder what was all that talking of "not finishing GB entries in time" about Cheers Jaime 1

I'm sure there is a EU regulation that requires this, after all even Ryanair gives you a seat Great progress cheers Pat 1

The best way to "disturb" any thing ! 5 years and 890.000 € to study an european dimension for the toilet ! How could we possibly live whitout that ?? Thanks for the kind words ! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I fear to becam e real toecutter, look, The guy in back has a look alike seat but feet are too far , cannot put a seat for the empty front seat ! Since his profile remind me someone. I use to call him Vital, So vital will receive some paints soon ! Chasing the sink mark now ! I also opened the oïl cooler intake and the carb intake, the oïl cooler is a NACA one one the lower part of the cowling . Seem easy but, step by step, found always Something to add or fix ! More to come soon. Sincerely. CC
AlexN
OK, this Aussie has taken the bait - but not quite in the way that you might expect. I have no opinion on which would be the better version. But the point is moot since I think that you have already chosen the Nederlandische version? Nice choice . Cheers, Alex. PS, how's Percy - and where is he? 2

corsaircorp
Hello Dears, This puffin is amazing ! I really enjoyed the time spent with him for his record breaking chilli game ! The goat was alas a little bit less amused Goats are that way ! Never satisfied ! PS can apply to anyone, you can think about ! Hope I can spend some time for modelling on the evening. Have a very good modelling time ! Fermented fish .... Yuk ! I agree Tony, that's the less amusing side of your friend Percy ! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, It's war at CC home that 3 last days and it is not about to end soon seemingly. 2 Holzkopf together !! So yesterday, it was communication breakdown from the zeppelin and today this one... Full bore !! Here's the way I tried to improve the engine cowling It will look that way Hooops, must thin a lot the lower lip of the oïl cooler ! First exhaust stack, seem to look good ! So Vital received some painting, seemingly he has a White ?? Flightsuit ! On the other hand this is a tropical area and they are sailor, so it is possible ! What you Gents think about that ? White is a good bet ? Start to look better I think ! Must be carefull since the PT-20 is NOT uneven at all ! Ok, have a nice modelling time and take care ! Sincerely.
