For an easier second entry I wanted to buils an EA-6, but I got this F-14D for Christmas and thought it would fit the bill (sorry!)

I'm just going to build this straight OOB, mostly because the markings are so nice.

I'm agonising over the scheme though as in the box are decals for the last flight machine in a lovely retro lt gull grey over white, :hmmm:

Any suggestions?

Go for the retro scheme :)

:ditto: and a lovely job so far too :yahoo:

Go retro Paul! Colourful cats look the best ;)

Just needs the cockpit being completed before she's ready for some paint.

I have to say I love this kit, it's a blessed relief from working on the vixen!

don't forget to fix your engine fairings :) That kit still has the more rounded engine fairings of an F-14A, not the more angular ones featured on the F-14B/D

Otherwise your build is looking great so far!

Thanks for that! Unfortunately I've gone a bit to far for surgery, for me anyway. I'll know for next time though :banghead:

She's coming on now.

After the paint

Thanks for the encouragement guys, nearly there apart from losing the (pitot?) probe that goes on the nose!

And she's finished, apart from the nose probe which is still missing!

There are more pics in the gallery thread.
