Back in the day, every so often I'd drive past Roger Clarks' garage in Narborough, Leics, and see the rally cars parked on the forecourt.

Great to see them though, I never did follow the rallies. Saw him and Gerry Marshall in a pub once.

I didn't see Roger driving but I did see him from a distance presenting Colin McRae with his winners trophy at the 1995 RAC Rally finish .

This looks really good! Surprised that there are so many issues in modern kit.

They like to keep you guessing at Belkits , Vesa !

I was lucky, saw him drive quite a few times in Mk1's & 2's - also had a nice chat with him after a stage on the '76 RAC when he was waiting for his service crew. They say you should never meet your heroes, but I'm glad I met one of mine, as he was really good to talk to. Another great driver who died far too young....

The Escort is now completed . For the first time I have tried some black Tamiya Panel Liner on the bodywork gaps . I’ve got mixed opinions ; I think on a white car it is too dark . And , even using my thinnest brush , I found it hard to control the amount of paint going on . Sometimes I got a run down the gap , then it stopped so adding more paint then didn’t blend in correctly …… I think using a 0.05 mm fine line pen is easier . Here’s a last look of the Mk1 on this section .

Stunning result as always Gary, superb workmanship together with outstanding paintwork and attention to detail.

Brilliant, I had chance to speak to Roger and his navigator at Silverstone on the 'Tour of Britain' in 1976 many, many moons ago. He was our youngest son's hero, when Matt was only  6 years old. The only time he was speechless. James Hunt was driving a Camaro! It was a combined rally stage and race circuit competition.
