Dads203 Posted June 11, 2023 Author Posted June 11, 2023 I shall be passing these wonderful replies over to Jen in due course chaps but I need your collective help. On the day of Kev’s passing he received in the post a package from the Isle of Wight, I think it’s some stuff that has been loaned and Jen would like to return it. I know that Kev spent most of the time on BM so I’m hoping it’s a member on here, So Fraser from PO39 if you are here could you drop me a PM please. If any of you maritime chaps are on any other maritime forums like model shipwrights could you possibly pop a shout out as Jen would very much like to get the package back. Cheers all. Dan

Chewbacca Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 Have been having tech issues with getting on to BM for the past week or so so only just seen this. Like others, only ever knew Kev through his posts on here but his modelling skills were an inspiration to us all. He will be sadly missed. My condolences to his family. 1
LongshanksJnr Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Hi everyone! As you can guess from my screen Name I am Kev's (longshanks) son. It has given my family and I great comfort reading all your kind words, thoughts and messages. It was a complete shock to find that he / probably more so his work was so popular and if only he was 50 years younger I would of put him in some tight leggings, making modelling videos on you tube making us a fortune! Where it goes from here... Unfinished models may stay unfinished as a mark of respect Along time ago he started building a 'Bristol pilot cutter' which stands about 6ft from keel to mast. He finished 90 - 95% of it but got stuck on the sails. If you have any experience with sails please please get in touch or if you can point me in the right direction that would be amazing. I will keep a lot of equipment and tools as when I was a kid I loved building helicopters, planes and anything that was RC and went fast! I have a 2 and 4 year old which I hope I can give them the same amazing memories I had with my dad. I'll stop rambling now (5 rums in!) But once again thank you for your kind words Longshanks Jnr AKA Talan 16

Ravens Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Very sad to hear he has passed away. He always had a kind word or something helpful to contribute, seemed like a really good guy. Ross.
