Retired Bob
17 hours ago, franky boy said: Paints used were Mr Color RLM82 for the green and Hataka orange line for the RLM81 brown violet as the Mr Color version of this colour looks way out to my eye. More of a muddy green. That's exactly what I thought when I used Mr Color RLM 81 on my D-9, that's not brownish at all, just Olive green. I will have to check what alternatives I've got, there's not enough time to go ordering stuff and waiting for it to arrive. Your camouflage is looking great, some nice fine squiggles and mottling. It's going to look superb with the markings on.

franky boy
Hi everyone I managed to get this one over the line last week too. As with my A-6 this one was treated with a Flory Models wash and oils for weathering. I didn’t want to go too mad with weathering the topside as I didn’t want to over do it with the complicated paint scheme. I also experimented with wet pigments for the first time to create some mud on the wheels and then flicked some over the underside with a toothbrush to simulate some splattering. I thought as these aircraft were hiding in forests by the end of the war there decent chance of a bit mud flying around. The gun barrels in the wings were also replaced with Albion alloys tubing. Very well done mate. 🇺🇦
franky boy
@modelling minion Thanks again Craig It’s a great scheme this one regardless of my efforts and the mud was fun to try too. Will definitely be doing more mud effects soon. James
