Could be a Sopwith Buffalo, only a few built. One was briefly used by 4 Sqn AFC, thus an Australian connection.

Well of all the aircraft I never thought would appear I've got to say that Mr Sopwith's Buffalo was high on the list (I'd never even heard of it till I read an article on this and it's sisters recently)👍

 

Sign me up for one if it costs less than a kidney
