magman2
The pauper'sTrophy System !! the so-called Light version, so when they runout of projectiles, for Trophy Light the crew is supposed to Chuck stones at the incoming RPG etc. Lions Led by Donkeys Edited September 13, 2021 by magman2
GMK
Some more pics of the somewhat agricultural Trophy fit proposed for the equally nascent CR3, courtesy of Jonathon Hawkes.
magman2
The ones mounted on the rear of the turret, definitely look a tad flimsy and vulnerable.

It's about blooming time that the British army had an anti-missile system fitted to its tanks! Should have had this year ago. Chris.

Systems like Trophy don't just make ATGMs & RPGs vanish in a puff of smoke, they go off with a big bang which is not very good for the sensitive systems plastered all over the tank's exterior, including the active defence system's own radars.....Typically after just a couple of defensive detonations a tank's performance is so degraded that it's an effective mission-kill regardless. But the crew are still alive & the tank can be fixed.

Tank-mounted systems are increasingly being hardened, even comparatively frail ones, especially in the last decade. A lot of these systems are already hardened against small arms fire, artillery fragments, & near misses.
