Thanks Tim, the Dio is gathering pace, hopefully all the bits of ordered come in on time. Once I get the base I can lay the lights and work on the ground work.
Ozzy
Got the cockpit finished off today, I used a mixture of hand saw and Dremel to do the cutting. I was feeling brave so I cut the canopy to, one side will be under repair with the engine showing and the other ready for a morning sortie.
Ozzy
Had a go at rigging the lights. Not looking to bad I just need to work on the sequencing for the explosions and were there. The orange lights at the front are the airfield lights.

Ozzy
Spent the evening chopping up the engine and sticking half together.
Ozzy
Bit more done, after seeing a picture for inspiration I though I’d freestyle with the second Stuka. I’ve also put the heads and remaining arms on the dismounts and started to bring them to life.
Ozzy
Not much progress lately, I’ve found a bit of wood to build the base. In the interim I’ve built a box frame ready for the side coverings to be attached, I also had an experiment with a cotton wool explosion. I’ve covered cotton wool with PVA glue to give it rigidity.
DaveyGair
Great stuff! It's like waiting for the next episode of a favourite, current, non-streamable TV series, well.... nearly 😁. Davey.

Thanks Davey, not much to show this weekend, I’ve been laying paper-mashie on the base which I will top with plaster of Paris. This will allow me to cut down and bury the cables from the lights, I ran out of PVA glue so will need to make an essential trip to the supermarket to pick some up. With a pause in this build it’s allowed me to make a start on the Panther project.

The duo is coming along nicely, I’ve got a bit of board to cut for the sides then it should really start to take shape.
Ozzy
I’ve been busy building a Panther, I’ve been fixing the lights on the Jeeps and also the elevated lights on the posts. I’m hoping to get some plaster on the base tomorrow and I’ll get some pictures.
Ozzy
A couple of pictures, I need to get some more plaster of Paris next weekend to finish off the base. The second is a picture of the light Miniart light fitting came in 2 halves which allowed me to do some fettling to fit the LED.

Ozzy
Got the remainder of the floor laid with the wires for the jeeps, lights buried. I’ve overspray with Vallejo Desert yellow, I also cut the sides out yesterday.
Ozzy
I’ve been messing about with a couple of the white lights, I was after something bright to cast a bit of light for the viewer. I found lighting on the floor wasn’t that great so put them up higher and I think I’ve found the sweet spot.
DaveyGair
Wow! Looking good so far Ozzy. Are you going to paint in detail on the box sides? Got my Panther finished so back on with the Dornier Do22 in this GB. Davey.
