Jaykay
Hi folks, hope you ar all well. Haven't posted on here for ages. Started this today. Originally was gonna be part of a group build (about this time last year) but was over run by work abtielung. Anyway. I hoping it will form part of a diorama, so maybe should have gone in that section?? I'll see. It will be set in the last few days of Berlin, with what's left of the Wiking in 1/72. So this is the first piece, the 88. I have to say that the detail on the model is very good. Here are a few shots ofthe spru and close up After a bit of assemblage Like I say, the detail looks very crisp Finally the barrel Whilst the detail is good, it needs a lot of fit, filler, sanding and stuff, but I think I'm happy with the finish. Tomorrow, I'll get a bit more done and start 'Berlin' - lots of cobbles I suspect, jk
colin
Looks a nice kit, not sure about the box art though, trying to hit a low flying P-47 with a 88 is a little optimistic I would think
paganpete
Excellent detail on that - looking forward to wip on this. Pete
Paul Ayrey
Looks a fine kit even in such a teeny tiny scale, looking forward to your build. Paul
Jaykay
OK, a bit more work done today on the gun and the base. Here's the sub sections of the gun, shield and cross mount. Think it's looking pretty good so far. Have strted on the wheels for te trailer and also the Berlin street. I'll start a thread in the Dio section for that though. Painting next. It's gonna get a grey overall with a winter white camo. Cheers for the comments. jk
Jaykay
Here's a few more pics from the last couple of days. I think it's coming along and really enjoying the build, even if it is 'fidly'. The cable reels are just sat on the trailer at the mo, hence the gaps. Hopefully will finish the trailer tonight and then crack on with the command unit over the weekend. jk
paganpete
Looking good so far - excellent detail - and no glue marks!!! Pete
Natter
That looks a belter for 72nd scale.
Wolfpack
If you're building the dio as a Flak gun, the cable reels will probably be empty. The cable was used to connect to the batteries predictor of radar for the 'follow the pointer' setting dials on the right of the cun carriage. Paul Ayrey
Looking great, can't wait to see some paint on it!
Jaykay
Hi WP, thanks for that. For the dio, it'll just be the gun and not the trailer/ accessories. But I couldn't resist building them, and I wanna paint them too. Hopefully paiting will start this weekend, jk
Jaykay
OK, here's the final product. I've finished the Kommand unti thingy too, but haven't taken any pics of it. It is a really well thought out model. It takes quite a bit of cleaning up, but I think it's worth it for the level of detail. And Revell had tried to 'hide' things like mould seems where they won't be seen. Really looking forward to spraying it up. jk
Sgt.Squarehead
Looks a nice kit, still don't have this one yet, but it's on 'the list'.....Revell (amongst several others) have been turning out some great small scale armour kits for a while now, so I'm a little bit perplexed by the expressions of incredulity at the level of detail in this one. Anyhow, you've done a great job building the kit, looking forward to seeing it with some paint.

HL-10
Looking good! Can't wait to see it painted. Sorry if I'm stating what you already know, the ground spikes at the end of the gun platform will need to go all the way through and into your base. Great work,
Paul Ayrey
Wow, that is looking great.
Jaykay
Hi HL10, quite right, they are only balanced there at the mo for the painting. They won't go through all the way, so will spilt em after the paint session. Just dead busy at work and training at the moment and can't find and hour to start the process. Maybe this week. Thanks for the interest fellas, will try and get it sorted. Have made some progress with the dio base, but this is slow too :-(. Jk
