  1. In the past it has represented the minimum needed to get through the voting process. But it looks like we wont get near that this year with some of the build ideas.
  2. I hope he is going to recover and things aren't too serious ? Plastic doesn't expire so no worry's on that front. Even if its just to talk just let us know if you need anything ?
  3. Im all for changes but my two worth says that GB’s and STGB’s should not compete with each other in the same poll. Some of the thoughts in previous posts are valid. If we go with 7 of each I say that we could limit the number proposals to a set number each year ? This would make it more fair in one respect. So say we limit the STGB’s to no more than 10-12 options in the STGB poll. If it takes from January to March or from January to October to get the 10-12 doesn't matter. That way we dont have 25 builds to pick with the 4-5 proposed votes. Once the roster is filled up no more proposal’s until January 1st the following year. If this doesn't sound good then maybe we raise the requirement threshold to 30 or 35 up from 25 to slow down the advance of STGB over standard GB’s. As of right now we are 18 months out of sync, The F-15 STGB I believe is the farthest out starting in July of 2022. I am convinced that being out of Sync is hurting STGB participation as some members leave the Forum or lose interest in the hobby.
  4. I noticed that I hope its not so. Im thinking you're correct, as much as I may not like all of the ideas. It may be time to change, including builds of alternative subjects like, cars, ships, and others.
  5. Good looking Mk.III ... This is one of my contenders for the Panzer III ST. So its good to see it built up.
  6. Hello Ed... from the city of Chicago. Im mostly WW2 & Cold-war aircraft myself. Dennis
  7. Hello Russ... from the city of Chicago. Im mostly aircraft but did recently finish my first ship in 27 years, a Hunt class from WW2 that a relative served on. Dennis
  8. Hello Mouse... from the city of Chicago. Please share with us, and know one ever knows how stash’s happen they just do. Dennis
  9. It probably is weaker, either way you opt to go needless to say test it on a small area first and like I said earlier follow it with water as it can soften plastic and glue. Id feel bad if anything I suggest causes more damage or aggravation. The benefit to this versus soaking is you save the cockpit and can control the amount of surface you work on at a time.
  10. Ive got a funny question here, now Im pretty sure it never happened but here goes. Were there any Mk.V’s ever painted in Panzer grey Including the prototypes. I thought they were always after that era but admit I could be wrong as my Knowledge is basic.
  11. Well that's really taking shape, great work and Im looking forward to the finished product.
  12. Ive heard oven cleaner works well. http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/general_discussion/f/9/t/164010.aspx Ive even heard old stories of auto brake cleaner and WD40 but that was in the 80’s and 90’s, not much since then. I personally use Tamiya Lacquer thinner (Tan cap) to remove paint. I soak a Make-up swab and use that. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishing/lacquer-thinner-250ml/ https://www.ulta.com/premium-cotton-pads?productId=xlsImpprod5660008&sku=2260619&CMPID=CSGGLE&CAWELAID=330000200000002630 Dennis Use the Tamiya sparingly and follow with water. It can effect the plastic.
  13. Great Corsair ... Im not just saying that because Im a corsair nut either.
  14. Wow very nice result ... Id love to do a Thud but its stuck in my future purchases list.
  15. Im hoping it comes to a tie or maybe at least gets a bump to next year if we settle that question ?
  16. Hello Saeran... from the city by the lake Chicago. Dont be, Im sure if you asked those builders they’d be able to tell you they're happy but the builds aren't perfect. Please feel free to ask for tips or pointers everyone is willing to share. Don't try to build to what you think the Forum wants/expects, only ever build to please yourself. I would also add don't try to do every trick on a build right away. Try a new one on each new build, you will master the skills quicker than you think and there is less chance for frustration. Come on down to the Panther Tank group build Im hosting and ask for some tips on tracks. Im sure the members would be happy to help. 17. Hello Patrick... from across the pond in Chicago. You and I are the same vintage, I’m 49 as well and mostly build aircraft. Dennis
  18. Hello Dave... from the city of Chicago. Im mostly Aircraft WW2 and newer with an occasional foray into something else. Dennis
  19. That would be great, even a Whif project of a car/plane/boat that you have always wanted to see is also acceptable. Im off to add you to the list.
