  1. Wine, friends and a model to discuss. Sounds like the ingredients of a lovely evening! Tom
  2. No, not for the amount of caulking your going to be doing. They can be blended and shaved like a hard pastel (which is another thought for caulking) I've used them on 1/35 truck beds and was pleased with the result (although there was some more 'gunk' applied over it). Tom
  3. Have you thought of artist's colouring pencils to represent caulking? I bought a set of 24 various colours several years ago from W H Smith. Tom
  4. Such a quirky little vessel. I wonder if that hull lends itself to any other tugs? Tom
  5. Bronco 35111 contains both Stiffkey and ring type sights, and 2 ammo boxes. There is/was an issue with the gun carriage. Might I suggest this site. https://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/bronco/cb35111.html Tom
  6. Thanks for the video Creepy, I realise now its a 'G' with the sloped fuselage fairing in the nose turret. Mystery solved! Tom
  7. Caught a few minutes of a documentary earlier today on 'GreatTV' channel around 3.30am. There was footage (pic from front stbd quarter) of a B 17 (allegedly on it's way to bomb Hamburg), but the front fuselage was noticeably thinner fairing in from the underside to join the thicker normal fuselage ahead of the wing. It sort of reminded me of a B 17 with a B26 front glued on. Was I seeing things? Tom
  8. I imagine oars would be inside the boats when stored on the skids. But what about masts and sails and water kegs etc. Would they be added as needed? Curious about what to add to the Heller Le Superbe when I eventually get around to it. Tom
  9. I wouldn't take the bet that no-one on these forums knows what she carried. You could remove the circular mg pulpit from the SPGs to make 'em look a little more like Sextons. Anyway you do it you'll make a great showing. Tom
  10. Hi Jon, Those SPGs are M7 Priest 105s. Don't think British Priests they were that common on Gold beach on D -Day. According to Wiki, only the 50th (Northumbrian) Inf. Div. landed with them on Gold (86th and 147th Field Regiments at H+60). (Although the 147th and 86th Artillery Regiments personal Wiki articles state they were equipped with Sexton SPGs!) Ambiguous to say the least. Tom
  11. It's a twin mount, Jeff. The bottom 'barrel' acts as a stop against the railings to limit firing arcs. Tom
  12. Slow to load and 'frequent Service Unavailable' messages while navigating between forum topics. Tom
  13. You could try painting a dark colour and masking them off to create the illusion of openings. Someone on this site (can't remember who) has used that method on a ship or aircraft model (I think). Tom
  14. Do you know you have a serious tweezer fetish? What scheme're you going for? Tom
  15. Got the same kit in my stash. I've been too-ing and fro-ng about ways to rig the beastie. Not keen on the Tamiya PE route leaning towards brass rod (0.2mm?) Any thoughts? Tom
  16. Is this a case of 'Fat Finger Syndrome' or prophesy? Mind how you drive Jamie! Tom
  17. Very nice build. A couple of things if I May; The commander's hatch (part C35?) has a semi-circular padded head protector on it's inside (it also has a very prominent mold knock out mark in it's centre) and if the Stug was to accelerate forward that fuel drum and probably the jerry cans would fall off they need tie downs. Fire extinguishers were not painted red probably the same (or similar) colour as the vehicle Might I ask about the red handles on the tools? Tom
  18. Note the Lewis (Vickers GO) m.g. mounted on the fwd. port corner in the Sirius pic. I've not measured or anything but I think the Trumpeter bridge screens (front and sides) in their RN cruiser kits are too low. If you compare Beefy's detail shot from Jan 3rd to the Dido class pics JohnWS posted you'll see what I mean. Bridge crew had to stand on platforms to see over them! Tom Edit Just had a measure on my Cornwall kit. Fwd. stbd. corner deck to top of plastic 'wall' is 3.69mm x 350 = 1.29m about 4' 3" does this sound about right?
  19. Gotta echo EwenS, Navweaps is an excellent resourse. Tom
  20. Lovely build! I'd say you have a link too many in the port (driver's side) track. Looking at the pic of the real thing there seems to be an awful lot of tension in that track. But re-thinking maybe it's a bit like 'holding it on the clutch' where if the tank rolled back a foot odd the tracks would look more even (there's a lot of saggy bits along the bottom) Tom
  21. Sleep until next year. You deserve it. Ahhh no, you've already had a year's begining aintchya! Tom
  22. I'm not thinking 'as a searchlight' more...pool the light slightly off to one side. If the driver was to lean out and look forwards of the front wheel it might be a little more illumination to the (e.g.) edge of the bridge perhaps. The sign holder makes sense as well. Tom
