I've had this one lurking for over a year now while I avoided it beckoning me from the shelf under the bench. It was a gift from Mr Reeves, and I've felt bad about not cracking straight on with it ever since.

My main issues are that I don't have the refs to do the insides justice. There's a lot of detail already present, but there's always room for improvement, so I wanted to go the "whole hog" as it were.

:hmmm:

Go on then, stop faffing about, can't wait to see a 48th Sunderland.

I have to admit to being a little  as I've never done anything this large in resin before. That said, once you've got the parts cleaned up, it's about as good as a VERY detailed injection moulded kit. Alpha Flight did a truly stunning job :worthy: THAT is why I don't want to stuff it up - that and Reevesy would throttle me!

Hi Mike,

It would be great to see one of those being built, I forgot to have a look at it when I popped round to see you so it would be nice to see it go together.

Heyup Den ^_^

You're always welcome at our gaff matey... I might even let you see Christopher if you promise not to frighten him ;)

will it sag??

I've got a few plans for the wings, to make them demountable for storage, and to stop the dreaded resin sag. The fuselage/hull will be quite busy inside due to the addition of lots of floors and bulkheads, and the resin is quite think, so I'm not unduly worried about that. I think I might also build some kind of beaching dio for it when I'm done, with the bottom-end still in the sea. Should be a sizeable chunk of board, eh?

go on then....build it...I dare you to build it....and with all the interiors...

Hi Mike, if I can remember the way I'll pop around sometime, can't promise not to frighten Christopher though !

Proceed cautiously Mike. The floors and Bulkheads in mine were wider than needed. There was alot of trimming an swearing involved.

Thanks for the headsup - did you ever get yours done?

Go on, its not much good under your bench. I did try to hide it under my coat when I popped in.....

It does look a cracking kit. Cut the excuses and get it on the bench!

 Yes Sir!

I think I'll probably start it when the 109's done... just rubbed down the primer, so it shouldn't be long now :)

Is that the Zvezda, or airfix one?

What????

Rich... get to your room until you learn the difference between a very expensive resin kit in 1:48 and a very cheap 1:72 kit! :fraidnot:

urm, I ment the 109!

Oh, now I see what you mean. Trouble is, Airfix do a Sundy in 1:72, and an Eastern European company is threatening another one. See what I mean? :hmmm:

Yes, the Zvezda one. I'll post a pic of it in primer in a minute if I get chance :)

Nope! Gave up and put it away. I decided life was too short. Maybe in the future it will get done. Not for a while yet , too many commissions to do. I do have a larger resin kit on the go at the moment though , a 40 inch Star destroyer!

I remember you mentioning that was up next. You should post up a few pics to make us all drool :)

Didn't know you could get a 48th Sunderland - if you built it where would you keep your car??

 Nah, I'd sell my car & fly places in the Sundy ^_^
