dov
Hallo As you can see the C cersion cockpit is done. The model is glued togeher. All plastic and etched parts are done. Before painting and so on, all versions of the P-47 will be done on the same stage. Above my C-version and jigs for the P-47 is prepared. The cockpit garden for my three Tamiya versions. Now we have to conclude how to proceed with Eduard: Etched parts, Space parts and Löök parts. This issue will be done tomorrow. dov
Hallo Now the cockpit of my Tamiya Thunderbolts is prepared for etched parts. Since we use normal Eduard etched parts, Space and Löök some preparation had to be done. For this purpose I used special tools. My wife always looks for new advanced tools, so also this. https://oeshop.co.uk/products/dspiae-cfb-lrregular-carbon-fibre-sanding-stick As grinding material https://de.aliexpress.com/i/1005005433778442.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2deu Usualy I demolished a lot of nice plastic, when I did such a preparation. Now, it was a wonderful working process. You must get used to such fine tool! Excellent experience. Happy modelling 4
ruth
Hallo Here my R 1830 engine for the Lancer. The kit by itself is a short-run kit. That means a lot of delicate fidling and correcting, support material has to be added on some areas too. The engine was the first thing to do. The cowling is in progress, almost finished. So have a look: Happy modelling
2996 Victor
Great work on those cockpits, Dov, the Tamiya mouldings are a lovely basis for detailing. The Lancer engine is superb, Ruth, I'm watching your build closely as I've got one of these nearing the top of my stash. Looking forward to the next updates. Cheers, Mark
dov
Hallo All fuselages are grind up to 4000. The cockpits of these two models are done with Eduard space. I used white glue and CA to glue this decals. Paint is nothing special to say. I use always the C-branch of Gunze. Now I can show you first my Razorback. The fuselage is assembled, the cockpit is ready. And now the Bubbletop: Happy modelling

dov
Hallo Here I am again. I represent you today the cockpit of my MiniArt P-47D. Before I go into detail a WARNING: Nothing, absolutly nothing fits as it should. Tamniya is a joy, MiniArt is a plague. The seat suport does not fit, if you want to install finaly the seat, it will not work. The cross section of the lower suport is too long and too wide. The sidewalls, nothing fits! Like semi-hidden tines as a carpenter, but designed in 3D it never will work neglkecting all tolerances. In Austria, we would call that just 'Klumpert'. So have a look: Here you see my claim! 2996 Victor
Well, for all that, the cockpit certainly looks excellent now that you've finished it! Very nice, indeed. Cheers, Mark
dov
Hallo Here now a major issue from Tamiya. This is the belly center weapon position. The insert for four arms to prevent the belly tank to dangle, does not fit properly. You cann't hide it on the finished model! There is still space left and looks generaly awful. In accordance with the real aircraft I decided to fill these gaps. The center gap is much too broad for any weapon or tank. Also here I have to adapt my externals properly. The four anti-dangle arms I will scratch. Here we have to notice, that the belly has in trhis area a hot metal area! To the right and left from the central belly sheet! Tomorrow I start spraying! dov
Hallo Now we are on detail work. Propeller, wheels, pylons, external load. Before we start, the material on hand is a major question. We need masks. All producers of masks are with or without wheel masks and they all omitt the masks for identifacation lights too. Since I know this as a major problem when modelling any aircarft, I have a stock of masks of all sizes. The external load is sprayed like this: The pylons with SM 201 aluminium The steel tanks with SM 204 steel The paper tanks with C08. This are now all 5 kits with small parts finished. Next step are the clear parts. Happy modelling
dov
Hallo Again some steps further. The wheelbay doors are done, smal parts and the flaps of the two models, which I will show flaps down. Here we go: Starting with Razorback C from Dora Wing: Now the Razorback D from Tamiya: The Bubbletop D from Tamiya: The Bubbletop D from MiniArt: And Bubbletop M from Tamiya: Tomorrow we will work on the aircraftmodel by itself to get a primer cover. dov
Hallo Now, two models are sprayed. The C version from Dora Wing and the Dora from Mini Art. After the paint job I did some weathering, by making shades to the darker and brighter on the olivdrab. On the matal surface I primed the model with gloss black. Afterward I gave the metalic surface a loght orange tint with GX colors. Today I made panel lines- The MiniArt model with Tamiya panel fluid, the C version from Dora Wing with MIG panel fluid. In both cases the excess was removed with enamel thinner from MIG. The detail surface from both models are really opposite, in panel lines and rivets. The decals from MiniArt kit are excellent! I worked with Micro Set, and after finish with Sol. So let us see the photos: Stenceling for the D-version is ahead. Happy modelling

2996 Victor
All looking really great! Some superb finishes there, nicely set off by the decals. Cheers, Mark
SleeperService
Excellent work from both of you. I found the Quickboost engines to be an issue as well but it looks OK if used on other aircraft, as you say it is very visible on the P-47 family. My 1/35 tank builder friends tell me that Miniart can be a pain for them too so I shall be very careful.
dov
Hallo MiniArt P-47 kit, the surface as well fuselage as wings are too much overdone with rivets. It is no T-34! Much, much too much. You can see it on my NO GUTS NO GLORY model. Happy modelling
2996 Victor
9 minutes ago, dov said: too much overdone with rivets.... Much, much too much That's the reason why I may not build my MiniArt kit - I don't really like the effect. Having said that, your NGNG build looks brilliant. Gidday, it seems that you've got the photo posting sorted. I use Flickr myself. I rather like your aircraft here, particularly "Miss Fire". ruth
Hallo Now, after some weeks and days here are now my present results. Due to the fact, that my husband has much more time as me, he is retired, I try to keep up. All his results find their way in my thinking of modelling. It is quite a fun, to followy some well explored way, it is a wellcome imput to my own skill. So you may now see all wings are finished. Assembly of the wings and installation of etched parts. Spraying the wheel bays Installation of the Landing Lights and Navigation Lights. Spraying the turbochargers polishing of the wings Today I work on the cockpit preparations. Preassembling and grinding plastic parts ready for etched parts or 3D decals from Eduard Space.
