Alistair,

Looking good with the decals down. I think I'm going to do mine as an RAF PR version,

Cheers,

Roger

Thanks roger,

I will be on the look out for your PR one.

Should be very interesting.

As you see the wing and fuselage stickers have settled in well overnight.

As expected the tailplane ones will need a little more TLC with softener and scalpel.

They've been hit with more softener and I'll see how they look later.

Thanks for looking,

I am sure that you will sort them out Alistair.

Simon.

They've started to settle after the scalpel and softener treatment.

Another couple of rounds of softener should do the trick.

Alistair

The Mig Ammo One Shot is rebranded stynlrez I believe.

It is good primer but the cleanup of the airbrush afterwards is a total pain.

Cheers,

Alistair

Just found this thread, and reading through it.

I shoot Stynlrez through an external mix, single action airbrush, not much cleanup that way. The airbrush I use is a Harbor Freight Chinese clone/copy/forgery of the Badger 350.

Had I know at the time that that was the case, I would not have purchased it. I don't look favorably upon such practices.

The Paasche H would be another good airbrush for Stynlrez.

I can see how trying to spray that through an internal mix airbrush would be a nightmare to clean! You do NOT want that stuff to dry in the airbrush!

After 5 rounds of Ultimate Extra strong softener.

Now I'll need to get a clear coat on this and make a start on with the various underside doors and get them painted for the weathering stages.

Thanks for looking,

I'd say that's a result! Looks great, Alistair!

Thanks Mark,

There were a lot of lumps and bumps to settle over.

I've popped the wings off as idiot features here had forgotten to paint the insignia Red on the exhaust collectors.

All masked up and ready for paint now.

Easily done - it'll be perfect when done, I'm certain!

You have a lot more confidence in my abilities than I do, that's for sure.

Those tail fins turned out OK in the end Alistair.

Nice work and perseverance.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

They are Cartograf so I knew I'd get them down eventually it was just a matter of how long.

Colourcoats Insignia red sprayed and the unmasked.

The cowels look great with the red rings added. The tail decals look ace, you're more patient than me, I would be sticking a pin into those bits and even have sliced those sort of bubbles with a sharp blade before. 🙄

Great work Alistair.

Those rings look sharp Alistair.

Very nicely done.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

The Infini cutting board makes life a bit easier on occasions like these.

I just cut a thin strip of tape to get round the shape and then normal tape fills in the rest.

Not a lot done.

Today I sprayed a clear coat to protect everything and should be able to start some weathering and chipping tomorrow.

The various doors and flaps have been painted.

The outer flaps still require some post shading and the whits painted on.

Thanks for looking,

+1 for that - looking great, Alistair!

Thanks Mark.

Still a fair way to go but it's all stuff that can get wiped away if i don't like it.
