This is the first 1/43 scale car I have ever built and too small for my liking. Not my finest ever build either due to my dexterity problems, I lost count of how many times I dropped it. I also had issues with the Alclad Candy laquer. I'm just glad to get it finished.

I like, very much, how Airfix is developing the 1:43 scale range of vehicle kits.  I realise how popular sports cars are: however, it would be nice if we could get standard vehicles in this scale, for our dioramas.

cheers,

Mike

Like Mike said, some standard vehicles would be nice, particularly if one is into gauge 0 railways or diorama work.

Somehow, not sure about the marketability compared to classics and exotic cars unfortunately.

At least there are plenty of diecasts available of regular cars in that scale. A look around charity shops can yield some nice things that have potential and also, lots of white metal and resin kits available from specialist suppliers.

That looks great, Dave… I’m on with one at the minute, and I think they are excellent little kits. @Noel Smith there’s a Series 1 Land Rover pickup in the new batch which I’m making up in blood and custard for my Uncle’s O Gauge railway, which is steam hauled. Their range is deliberately split between British Icons (Landy, DB5, E Type) and modern supercars (Huracan, Mclaren, Huayra and Chiron). You can also find some useful kits for an O Gauge setup among the Heller 1/43 range, if you want a Series 3 Land Rover pickup or Mini, or are modelling the 1970s when the Rover SD1, Princess, Renault 30 and Alfasud come into their own.

best,

M.

That little Landy looks nice Matt, and the DB5 and E type. I have built the Chiron and it is a nice little kit.

Your mention of the Heller 1/43rd scale kits from way back reminded me about an Austin Ambassador that I had years ago that was basically a hatchback version of the Princess. I could never understand why BL never made the last Wolseley and Princess cars hatchbacks in the first place as the body style lent itself towards it from the outset.

Dave's Huracan, the feature model of this thread is a lovely build.
