Feeling like the Mojo is coming back,  I have nearly finished the paint on the Sea Venom with some post shading on the EDSG, once happy I will gloss coat ready for one decals although I will get the canopy on first.

I even got further on the stalled Sea Gladiator N5520,  just got the EDSG to add and drill some rigging holes, decal and then start on the upper wing.

Whaaaat Chris ???

You dared !!

I must agree with Alistair on this one...

At least, a second glass beside your whisky glass

With water from the Loch Lommond or Lough dairgh okay...

But Coke ??? Holy god !!

:rofl2::rofl2:

CC

I know, I know  but I do love coke in Whisky, in my defence it's blended and not a single malt:whistle:.

I do love a bit of JD and coke too, yummy.

Thanks Andy, feeling like modelling again now. Pleased with the Sea Venom now.

Chris

Sometimes a lack of visible progress can affect the mojo but I find the longer you leave the build alone the worse it gets so I tend to plough on regardless. One good positive session can bring the mojo flowing back and everything is rosy in the garden again 😉👍

The Sea Venom is coming together nicely. Looks rather good, as is the Gladiator.

They're both getting close to finishing.

Ye Gods, Chris,

You do realise that the punishment for using a good malt like that would be Draconian.

Glad you only used the cooking whisky. ;)

Cheers,

Alistair

Chris, you're going to have to identify the scale of the Sea Venom, now that you have two on the boil at once...

I'm assuming that because it doesn't have funky bang-seats that it's the smaller of the two with paint! 😉

It's looking great, by the way!

Thanks Andy , yes definitely agree, the look of the Sea Venom has definitely helped bring the old Mojo back.

Thanks Alistair   pleased with the Gladiator and Sea Venom   please forgive my behaviour with the Whisky,  at least it's only the cheaper end of things, cooking Whisky,  I like that😄

Thanks Derek, this is the 72nd scale one, the 32nd scale one will be recommenced soon although progress will be slow as need to build cockpit and add lots and replace some bits.  I hope to be able to get some decals on the 72nd one very soon.

Thanks guys

He’s back.  I find your painting process fascinating, the way you build the finish is a masterclass in brush painting.

😃Thanks Mark, I do feel a lot more motivated again now and have been glossing the Sea Venom ready for decals, and have painted the first coat of EDSG  on the Sea Gladiator and the dark green first coat on the Lightning  so a good evening's progress.

Thanks for your kind comments I do love the painting process and the post shading starts to bring it to life.

Chris,

Good to see that you've powered through the mojo slump! Both Sea Venom and Sea Gladiator are looking lovely (including the post-shading). Keep going that man,

Thanks Roger, yes pleased to have the Mojo restored and pleased with both the models, just got to figure out whether to have the wings folded or extended on the Sea Venom now???

Hopefully will be able to get dome done after I take down a shed at my parents house, it tried to fly off yesterday and is now completely knackered so taking down this morning.

Oh b*gger - sorry to hear about the shed. My mum & dad lost a couple of fence panels but not too bad - sounds like it was a big blow! Personal preference for wings folded old son, but I'm sure it'll look lovely whatever,

Thanks Roger we were very lucky and didn't lose anything, but neighbours lost the fence panels too.  Hope your parents get theirs sorted okay. My 83 Yr old Dad was trying to hold it down and luckily a neighbour of heirs came along with a rachet strap and was able to secure it as I got there.   We moved a heavy home made hit and miss section of fencing onto it to to deflect the wind off it too, what worried me was seeing Dad shaking and he could hardly move after standing there so long so he was escorted inside for a cuppa.

I will take it down this morning .

Hmm I've not done a folded wing before, might have to give it a go.

Thanks fella

If it's any consolation it's been a lovely calm 25c day for us. Nothing to do with climate change! Hope all is well with father - unsettling times,
