wimbledon99
Hi Folks, After completing the recent BoB Group Build with lots of aftermarket goodies, I thought I'd opt for something 'out of the box' for my next build. My youngest has been asking for a truck to be built so we had a quick scan on the internet and he picked this out. I'm going to strip the chrome plate and Alclad it back on. I might also have a bash with one of the Alclad 'Candy' colours. Never used them before so any advice appreciated Cheers Nigel
phildagreek
That's a good little kit, goes together with no bother & with a little effort (which sounds like your plan), it can look fantastic.
MetroRacing
Hmm don't see many classic pickups about. Is there a kit of the Ford F1 pickup?

Thanks for the heads-up Phildagreek. I could do with a stress-free build Hmm don't see many classic pickups about. Is there a kit of the Ford F1 pickup? I found one by Monogram with the power of Google. Not sure of availability though!
wimbledon99
Thought I'd post the obligatory 'sprue' shots before I start stripping the chrome. Then I'm gonna order some Candy Blue
wimbledon99
Chrome now stripped. The holes in the wheels were quite poor so have cleaned then up with a drill bit. Here's the before and after

wimbledon99
Thank you - Should improve with the top coats The white walls are decals. Took a LOT of 'Sol' to get them to shape to the tyres though!!
Hamden
That is really coming together well. Chassis and wheels look stunning and I can't wait to see it mated to the body all in colour! Roger

PlaStix
Hi Nigel! I was just thinking, when I saw your post in my Centurion build, that I hadn't seen anything from you for a while so, upon investigation, I find you back in the motoring section with another rather interesting build. Those wheels came out beautifully! Sorry I'm late! Kind regards, Stix
wimbledon99
Haha - Thank you Stix. You are very welcome I've not been able to do much in the last few weeks and every time I threaten to, something else stops me. HOWEVER, I hope to change that this weekend Cheers
wimbledon99
Managed to find an hour today to lay the Candy Coat on. Lots of lessons learned here about preparation for the next time I use this but it's good enough for the boys' bedroom
