Ex-FAAWAFU
All of this is excellent, but I think your wooden deck look is particularly effective; it looks incredibly convincing.

carlhataway
Michael, You continuously amaze me at the perfection in your build! I'm building the 200 scale USS Missouri and having been out of the model building business for a few years because of my video business this model is a little intimidating. This 200 scale is the first large model build I have ever done, have several 350 scale builds under my belt. Your attention to detail is amazing I only wish I had your ability but at 69 years old the steadiness that once was there is fading ever so slightly. I remain in amazement at your ability, out standing job! Carl
elmarriachi
*** UPDATE *** the first small guns are finished..... without changes from the Trumpeter kit, only with pontos gun barrels ... Cheers Micha
Chango
You're a machine Michael! I'm very impressed at how you can rock through so many projects with such consistency! Gotta admit I'm still hoping there will be 1/200 Veteran Models flak guns in the future but the wait could be...well, forever. So... from another website I see you are gonna do HMS Nelson next? Can't wait to see it... it's lonely over here in Nellie-ville. -Jason

elmarriachi
*** UPDATE *** THE MAIN GUNS ARE COLORED ..... First all turrets and armory were airbrushed with valleyo black primer as a fist kind of shadow. Next light grey was airbrushed on all parts, still keeping the black primer shining through the grey. After a masking session the dark areas were airbrushed in Nato Black, as well as the gun barrels - both also with airbrush. The two turrets on each side left and right got a white area airbrushed in the same way as the stripes on the superstructure. The smaller details were brush painted with a fine brush.... Then all the finished parts were mounted on the ship, still movable..... Next step: Washing with oil colors in the same way as the other parts of the superstructure .....
