Live_bait
GDay folks, Well, there she is, the backup mount of Major Hartmann. The subject? Very enjoyable, such scheme gives endless possibilities of interpretation, even if there would be a picture of the actual ship. In the end I’m quite happy with the outcome. That’s what makes Luftwaffe camouflages so enjoyable and popular, I’m not the first making such statement. Here's the build: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234950943-132-revell-bf109-g6-hartmann-backup-ac/ Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for looking. JackG
Now that is cool, well done! Don't see wing mottle done that often, but this is very convincing. Did you draw out a diagram first, or just winged it? regards, Jack

I had to respray to adjust sometimes though, I think this gave a more attractive look. Parabat
An absolutely outstanding build and finish to this aircraft. Very pleasing to the eye and no doubt will be an eye catching piece on your display shelf, excellent work.

Duncan B
Absolutely lovely looking model, I really like the paint job. Only question I have is about the battery box behind the pilot's head armour, IIRC it wasn't fitted to G6's (G10 yes) and it was made of wood but I feel I am nit picking. Live_bait
Hi Duncan, thank you for the nice comments and for the heads up. Were some G-6 versions at some point equiped with MW50 (Methanol Wasser) providing, during a limited period of time, a boost of power? Some stencils of G-6 contain MW50 distintive triangle next to the starboard filler panel. If that is the case, then the G6 battery box at some point of its lifecycle and on some of its numerous versions, could have been located in that position. The profile I'm basing this model on depicts the battery box in such way. The amounts of changes the G6 went through its lifecycle is impressive, which lasted until the end of the war, for Germany at least. Supply chain and production line were having issues to produce the different versions of the type. Regarding the material of the box, could the different wooden panels be joined by means of metallic angles?. If it's 100% made of wood I can re-spray locally, no problem. Cheers.Maurice Edited January 7, 2014 by Live_bait
Duncan B
I wouldn't worry about the battery box as your model is superb. I feel bad for having mentioned it at all. Duncan B
Live_bait
No Duncan, please do not feel bad. I was just trying to develop an interesting technical discussion. As you do, I love to research the subjects I use to model. The model is just a model, if there is something wrong, such as the battery location then I learned something new to improve the next model Edited December 22, 2013 by Live_bait
jettnett2003
That's a superb finish you have there. Not sure if you noticed but you have a big fingerprint on the canopy, shows how unforgiving close photography is. Not nitpicking because you have done an awesome job there, just not sure if you had noticed it yourself or if it is a permanent mark or not.
