heloman1
Hi Petr. The spue shots look very good I like the scrided/engraved detail. Do you have a release date yet? Colin
Chad
I can't wait for your new Cobras to come out. I flew AH-1G, AH-1Q, Mod S, Production S and Production S ECAS Cobras between 1971 and 1981, so the early versions are especially dear to me. I do have a question, though. Why is the Q/S version being released with the KAMAN main rotor blades? They were just being fielded in 1981. None of the Q's or Mod S's I ever flew had them. They had standard blades. When are the kits coming out? I can't wait. Edited October 14, 2013 by Chad
cvrle
A heads up - the November issue of SAMI had an MPM Leaflet, the Cobras are listed as 12/2013 (Spanish & IDF; USA and Europe) and 01/2014 (Marines; Vietnam with M35). A little later than planned, but just in time for my birthday!
ShadowRaider
Dear Petr, I have put an "Early version" kit (#72076) on backorder a very long time ago, but now I am a bit worried. Am I right in assuming that the "early version" box WILL include the XM-35 (Vulcan) gun package, as per your pictures on the very first page of this thread? Thanks, Alex
petr@SpecialHobby
to Chad: Thank you for your remarks. Do not worry please, the Q/S models will have their appropriate blades in the box, there will be the older rotor where it should be, and the later with machines which had it. We use to study the materials and references carefuly. We are still upgrading the moulds and the plastic parts are getting better and better. Here are some photos. Yes, some parts are still undershot, it will take few more weeks to have the parts in perfect quality.

petr@SpecialHobby
You are very kind, thanks! Here are the third testshots, still need some improvements, but I believe that you know that the steel moulds take some time, it is not over-weekned business. heloman1
Hi Petr. I picked up the three kit pack at Scale Model World, Telford, very nice kits indeed and I'm looking forward to building them. However I was a little disspointed that they didn't include the PE parts! I undestand not including the declas to reduce the price but the PE parts are essential. Thanks again for a great product. Thomas V.
Hi Petr, when can we expect Cobras/Vampires to hit the market.....and does it mean all that your new toolings will all be in mainstream technology.. sharkmouth
And now, our another Cobra box-art. This time no Nam, but Germany based choppers. Unleash your imagination and perhaps you can see a Warsaw Pact Mi-24 Hind being chased by this Sharkmouthed Cobra. Yup, the forest in the backdrop is the Bayerisher Wald / Bohemian Forest on the Czechoslovak borders in the 80s. The metal moulds are just being finished, polished etc and in the meantime, our art-guru Mr.Hajek prepared another wonderful box-art. It is SH72280 model, all camos of US Marines Cobras. Enjoy: Okay, with a name like Sharkmouth, you KNOW I am definitely getting these two! Can you display the markings for the other kits? I need to get an idea of the size of the bank loan needed. petr@SpecialHobby
Release date for our Cobras is almost here. We have finished the very last frame of parts, there are the tow-bars with auxiliary transportation wheels, plus some other parts needed for later TOW-armed snakes. We expect to have the first two boxes of Cobras in May, these are "Spanish & IDF Cobras" and "Over the USA and Europe" kits. The fitting test went very well (which we have expected indeed), but the model lost its stability on the auxiliary wheels so there has to be some weight added to the model´s nose section (which was not expected, but it will be noted in the instructions). Gumbie Air Services
Yup, listening and already considering making this beauty snake also in bigger scales. And thank you all gents for your very kind comments! I would love one in 1/35, especially one for my Vietnam collection.
cvrle
Very nice! Just a question - which of the boxings will contain the -S TOW equipped versions?
petr@SpecialHobby
Hi cvrle, there will be also Q/S versions later and possibly also even later (twin engined) choppers as well. We have some hot news for you today: as you can expect, there will be also colour photo etches, there are being prepared just now. And we´ll make also resin cast seats, quite highly detailed as you can see on these pictures: The first of our Cobra models will be the "Spanish and IDF" boxing, you have already seen the box-art and camos. The second will be "Over the USA and Europe". Here is boxarts, camouflages and decals.

petr@SpecialHobby
For "camo E" of our US and European Cobra boxing, there will be added this cast resin dummy turret. Some Cobras used for training were having it instead of normal armed turret under their nose.
