wkennerley Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Hi all, I had not planned on joining this GB but I remembered I need an excuse to build this kit - so for now pics of the box and contents. Wayne
CatcliffeDemon Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Daww, it's tiny! Well that didn't take long.
dogbrush Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Looking good! I'll be keeping an eye on this one Wayne!!
wkennerley Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 So here is the progress so far - I got the two tones of grey a bit wrong, it looks a lot worse in the photo and as this is going to hang on the ceiling with my 1/144 bombers I am not too fussed. Now for a 2nd coat of future then onto decals, all 50 odd!!! Wayne
dogbrush Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) Looking good Wayne! I didn't attempt to follow the grey paintscheme that rigidly - comparing yours to the kit instructions it looks like you've got it spot on!! Good luck with the decals, things get a bit weird around the 50-52 mark, as in they just didn't bother to match up the decals to the instructions but it's fairly easy to spot what goes where! Here are a few reference pics that I'm using for mine if you need any (which you probably already have) >>Link<< Edited July 20, 2012 by dogbrush
wkennerley Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Boy are there a lot of decals and as dogbrush says above, some are not numbered correctly. Should finish later today i reckon Wayne
SaintsPhil Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Looking smart, nothing like stencil decals in 1/144 to give you eye strain!!
Neal Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 It's coming on really well, looking forward to seeing the finished article.
wkennerley Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 Done and I am pretty happy with the outcome Wayne
pabbi Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 very nice impressive job on such a small scale ! cheers, Ragnar
CatcliffeDemon Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Looks great, what's the wingspan of one of these in 1/144, 3-4 inches? Edited July 24, 2012 by CatcliffeDemon
AndyC Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Nice stuff Wayne - a proper CAS bird! She is tiny though, I used to model 1/144 when I was a teen (too small for fat fingers now) so fair play that you can get a result like that
SaintsPhil Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Very smart! How you going to mount it? Or is it a hang from ceiling job? Phil
wkennerley Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Looks great, what's the wingspan of one of these in 1/144, 3-4 inches? 4 1/2 inches Nice stuff Wayne - a proper CAS bird! She is tiny though, I used to model 1/144 when I was a teen (too small for fat fingers now) so fair play that you can get a result like that Thanks AndyC, it was a bit difficult in places for my fat fingers, putting the bombs on was worst I think Very smart! How you going to mount it? Or is it a hang from ceiling job?Phil This is a hang from the ceiling job to go alongside my 1/144 US bombers Edited July 25, 2012 by wkennerley
