  1. I'm building the meng kit right now. Fit is phenomenal! I closed up the weapon bay doors and the fit is just about perfect considering each side is four pieces. They mate up perfectly as long as you are careful test fitting them. The vertical stabilizers do have a tricky seam to fill, though, as the seam runs through panel lines. Other than that, I have not used any filler anywhere else.

    The Weather,

It's almost October here in Alabama and we are still in the high 90's!
  3. The Tu-22 is a big plane itself in 1/72. So, kinda comparing the size of the two, it looks like 1/48 to me. Though, I could be completely wrong on that.
  4. Looks really good so far! Can't wait for them to be released!
  5. So, is there any news on this one? Are they still on track to release the first boxing in the next two-three months?
  6. I really hope this is true. I have been waiting for one in 1/32 for years! Patiently waiting for ICM to release their 1/48 kit as well.
  7. That's quite a conversion! I've never heard of this version before.

    The Weather,

Our police department was destroyed. Major damage to our street. A 163 year old church was completely destroyed. But, no deaths and only a couple of serious injuries. Our house will have to be torn down. But, we are alive and well and that is all that matters.

    The Weather,

We were just hit by a tornado today. Damage is severe and we have been displaced. At the moment, our house is standing, but unlivable.
  10. Just bought that magazine yesterday! Wonderful article and beautiful plane! If ICM gets this right, I'm in for at least two of them. And at least one Counter Invader if they decide to do one.
  11. Not in my area. There is currently only one flying Counter Invader in the world. "Special Kay." She was just recently painted in the SEA camoflage and is flying. http://warbirdsnews.com/warbird-restorations/a-26-special-kay-restoration.html
  12. Yes! Would love to have the counter invader as well! Currently, there is only one flyable example they can study. I'm sure the guys that maintain and operate it would be glad to have them over!
  13. Working my way through the Monogram kit, myself. Full rescribe. Although a nice kit, some parts really don't fit too well. I closed the bomb bay doors on mine, and it required shims to close it up. If ICM does a good job with the detail and fit of the parts, I'll happily buy a couple.
  14. WOW!!! Unexpected, but very much appreciated! Modelcollect seems to be on a large aircraft kick lately. With the B-52 family, the B-2, the upcoming B-1B, and now this. I only hope they come out with a 1/72 KC-10 next! I hope that doesn't sound too far fetched.
  15. Is it just me, or does the spine and center wing section look to be one piece? Looking at the half built one on the right, it kind of looks that way; with the seam line running along the side of the fusalage. That's an interesting approach. Looks like they did it that way so they wouldn't have to mold a separate piece for the tail.
  16. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking about doing one in USAF markings. Like, what if Antonov entered into a partnership with the US, or relocated to the US. The Air Force realizing it needs a bigger transport plane to replace the C-5 due to increasing demands for more cargo. New build AN-225's built in the US with Western avionics, engines, ect. A very rough and cut theory, so don't take it as the final version of the story. Once I get a couple, I'll build one as a what if, and the other one as the actual plane.
  17. Might I suggest looking at kits world decals. They have a lot of interesting schemes and markings for a wide variety of bombers, fighters and more. I know spruebrothers carries them. But, depending on where you are, maybe hannets has them.
  18. My go to scriber for a good while now is the MRP blue handle scriber. I find that it cuts a lot smoother than the trumpeter scriber and leaves a nice V groove. Multiple light passes and all is good. After all of that though, I still run a little bit of Tamiya extra thin into the scribed lines just to even them out even more. If you are careful, the scribed lines look just like they came from the factory that way. But, that is only my experience with it. Yours may vary.
  19. my mistake guys. It's not 100% humidity. I read it wrong on my weather app. It's 60% humidity and an index of 100.
