As a result of the close-down of the UK by the British Government last night, we have made all the Buy/Sell areas read-only until we open back up again, so please have a look at the announcement linked here.

  1. To be honest, I have been dealing with severe depression for a looong time now. To have a friend to text you completely out of the blue and say they are lucky to be your friend lifted me to above cloud nine. Completely made my day. Whatever problems you have, just know you have people that care.
  2. With some refinements, that XP-54 would make a pretty cool air racer! I think I'll get one and do just that.
  3. I haven't really thought about doing a work in progress for this build. Mainly because I build slow and my free time is almost nonexistent. But, I may consider starting a thread if I get far enough along that I can show some meaningful progress.
  4. Awesome model! I'm currently building the Revell A380 in the proposed freighter version that was canceled in FedEx colors. I have been looking for a good match for the purple as it seems it isn't really purple. It looks like it has a blueish tint to it. I would like to build an MD11, but the Eastern Express kit kind of scares me off from building one. You have done a great job!
  5. For the troubles you had, you sure did an awesome job! Well done!
  6. I have built two of them. What I did to the wings was I epoxied two brass rods along the entire length of the wings. It helped stiffen up the wing pretty good. I also glued the two bottom halves together, then the top to try and reduce the bottom seam on the wing as much as possible.
  7. Love what you are doing so far! Looks great!
  8. Beautifully done! Can't wait for the 1/48 version to come out!
  9. I had the same problem with mine as well. Although, mine isn't that bad. If you squint hard enough, you can see the warp. I'm going to leave mine as is.
  10. Nice start! I'm building one myself. Although, I'm converting mine into the proposed freighter version that was canceled in FedEx colors.
  11. Just a heads up. The engine nacelles are tricky. I had a huge gap and a decent step to deal with. Ultimately, that's what stalled my build. However, the wings go together wonderfully!
  12. Awesome! Makes me want to break mine out and start working on it!
  13. Well, yeah I read it. If you look at the scale in the catalog, it says 1/48. That's why I was asking. Nothing more. Just asking for clarification. Over and out.
  14. So, is this 1/48 or 1/32? Or are we getting both from Hobbyboss?
  15. Just beware, if you go with the gunze gx100, you have to thin it a lot. Something like 80% thinner to 20% clear. That stuff is almost like molasses.
  16. I'm building the meng kit right now. Fit is phenomenal! I closed up the weapon bay doors and the fit is just about perfect considering each side is four pieces. They mate up perfectly as long as you are careful test fitting them. The vertical stabilizers do have a tricky seam to fill, though, as the seam runs through panel lines. Other than that, I have not used any filler anywhere else.

    The Weather,

It's almost October here in Alabama and we are still in the high 90's!
  18. The Tu-22 is a big plane itself in 1/72. So, kinda comparing the size of the two, it looks like 1/48 to me. Though, I could be completely wrong on that.
  19. So, is there any news on this one? Are they still on track to release the first boxing in the next two-three months?
  20. I really hope this is true. I have been waiting for one in 1/32 for years! Patiently waiting for ICM to release their 1/48 kit as well.
