  1. It's 1/12th It's a 1/12th BMW It's a 1/12th BMW E30 It's a 1/12th BMW E30 M3 It's a 1/12th BMW E30 M3 DTM That is sweet music to my ears. . . keep your Jaguars and Ferrari's, for me if there could only be one racing car in the world it would be this one. What livery are you going with (so many to choose from..) ?
  2. I like this guy PLASMO. His videos are short (10 - 15 mins) and are in the format of step-by-step... here is an example:
  3. Ummm, Plus: It's a Mini. . . It's a Mk.1. . . It's a Cooper 'S'. . . It's a 1:8 scale. . . It's a 1:8 scale Mini Mk.1 Cooper 'S' (did I say that already) Minus: It's not a Morris It's not a Super Deluxe 850 It's not Almond Green (GN-37) It's not £500 (Pocher money) It looks a little off in some details But this is just a personal preference of course... I'd still rather have one than not have one however timing is a major factor and now is just not the right time for me... Hopefully it will be a success and many will buy one so I can possibly pick up a complete set of all 100 parts at a better price in the future.
  4. Yup.... I tried some johnsons Klear which helped a little, I'm trying to be philosophical about it.
  5. Well I am reluctantly calling this one done..... I removed the masking tape from the glazing before I clear coated the model (I was using Zero paints for the first time) This resulted in fogging....A rookie mistake, shame but there it is... Ah well time to move onto the next project.
  6. Great work, this is my fathers favorite car and have been wanting to build one for ages... Well done.
  7. Some more progress today... my deadline is my clubnight next monday B-) Just noticed the size difference but luckily I have Joe Maxwells excellent set in my stash...
  8. Oops! I just realised that I had started this WIP but never updated.... progress up to last weekend.
  9. Another S-M fan here, I have been using the same one for nearly 30 years now. . .
  10. Beautiful model you've built there. . . I have always liked this aircraft even getting to sit in one. I do wish the Irish had used them.
  11. Hopefully this is just one on many kits you will be building... we all learn as we go along... there are many many tricks and tips to discover. Do you intend to build only cars or will you be having a go at aircraft or armour subjects as well.
  12. I built this same kit a while back and enjoyed it a lot . . . one tip I was given was when spraying RED or WHITE it helps keep it bright by using a WHITE undercoat....
  13. Although I have NEVER seen any MINI fitted with the wheels in the kit . . . they were apparently actual dealer options.
  14. Are you using rattle cans??? How did you find sparyng.
  15. Like many of the 1/8 scale kits I would love to have time, patience and space to build one (or two). If I did the Traction Avant would be high on my list. . . great start
  16. Tiny model in 1/32 despite being larger than the original... good luck with the spray painting.
  17. Only one problem. . . that is the wrong JAGUAR emblem. This is what you need
  18. I will be receiving a 1/12th Mini Cooper Rally (1964 Monte Carlo Winner) model on Saturday and will need a good display case, thanks for the link they look just the ticket, just need to decide which style best suits the subject
  19. Is this the first movie car? and are you planning to collect/convert them all.... paying for our models is an never ending task but some models are pure impulse so logic goes out the window.
  20. Nice. . . is it 1/32 or 1/43 scale? either way a big change from your usual.
