  1. Hi all, I'm looking for instructions for RVHP Gulfstream G-IV Kit No. 72110 (Irish Air Corps 251 plane). I'm trying to size the harp decals to get a set printed. If anyone out there has a set of the instructions for this kit they could scan and email me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks Colin
  2. IAC (Irish Air Corps) never flew the Scottish Aviation Bulldog. I think the closest was the SIAI Marchetti SF 260 but never in Camo was dark green. I wonder what it was you saw.
  3. Calum that is a lovely job. Very nice weathering/panel/line detailing. Colin
  4. I love the paint job GruntPa. Is it Airbrushed or Hairy Sticked? My money is on Airbrushed. Also what paint did you use? Colin
  5. A warm Texas (via Ireland and the world) welcome Zac. Colin
  6. Welcome back Andy. I don't know you and we have never chatted before but I'm glad you are back in settled times. It does not surprise me that Mike reached out to you when they noticed you were not posting all those years ago. I'm not too long on this Forum but have found it a very supportive unjudgmental place. I see members from all over the world and no doubt from vastly differing backgrounds but what gladdens my heart is the support they give to each other. I wouldn't swap my troubles for anyone else's (at lease I know what my troubles are) but I'm just putting it out there to you and anyone else to feel free to PM me if you ever feel the need for a chat or to vent or just need a little bit of a boost in stormy times Model related or not from a fellow modeler. Colin
  7. Hi Nick welcome to the Forum. You're going to like it here and will find loads of helpful information just ask.
  8. Welcome GruntPa and thanks for your service. I'm a husband of a retired Navy Chief but being Irish myself am concentrating on Irish Air Corps models initially but do have a couple of Ships and Helos I'll get to at some point in time. Officially been a Texas resident for a few years now thanks to my Texian wife. That Sopwith F.1 Camel looks pretty impressive looking forward seeing your future builds. Colin
  9. I'll let you know once I get them. If you want to share which ones you are looking for I'll keep an eye out for them too.
  10. Steve Howe - The Steve Howe Album
  11. There were 20 Hurricanes in total. Nos 93 - 95 & 103 - 120. Nos 103 - 112 and 114 were all Mk I. Nos 94 & 05 were Mk IIb No 93 was a Mk X The rest were Mk IIc Nos 93 - 95 all delivered unintentionally having forced landed in Ireland in 1940 & 1941. The rest were ordered and arrived between 1943 and 1945. Nos 93 to 114 were all in Dark Green and Dark Earth camouflage on upper surfaces and underneath rear fuselage, silver underside. By this time Nos 115 - 120 arrived (1945) the colour scheme changed and the Dark Brown was replaced with Ocean Grey upper surface and Medium Sea Grey on undersides. I think I have this correct. @ModelingEdmontonian glad to hear you got sorted. Still working on the stash and then have to start practicing to get skill up to par and all this after the 1:1 house build finishes so it won't be soon but it will happen some Thursday just not this Thursday. I have more info on IAC aircraft if anyone is looking for it PM me. Happy to share what I've gathered so far. Colin
  12. There were 4 different versions in IAC service Mk I, IIa, IIb & IIc. The colours did change through their service life. In work at present but will have a more detailed look later and message you.
  13. This build is coming along nicely. Lovely detailing and painting.
  14. Dimitry, I've just taken a quick look at those other models all I can say is WOW. Of all the detailing the one that impresses me the most are the Exhausts. They look like metal. I'm also blowen away by the fact these are all 1:72 scale. I am in awe of you skills. Colin
  15. @ModelingEdmontonian there is a guy in Poland who makes decals, Mr Decal I don't have his website address to hand but he does have 1:72 IAC Hurricane decals on his site. Google Mr Decal Poland and you will find his website and FaceBook page. I'm building my stash of kits to do Irish Air Corps set, as many different aircraft as I can get Kits for. Decals are the issue. There were ones done by Max Decals but they are out of print currently and no date yet for reprints. Max Decals has a FaceBook page too. Anyway I've reached out to Mr Decal to do a set of IAC Decals for various aircraft and he is working on this as we speak. But he does have the Hurricane one done already. Worth checking out. I'm in no hurry myself as I have plenty of kits with IAC decals to get me started and I'm waiting on my 1:1 house build to finish. If postage it too high and you aren't in hurry let me know we might be able to add to my order and post them up to you from Texas. Regards Colin
  16. Another nice one. Like the subtle weathering. I have one of these in my stash to be build in Irish Air Corps (IAC) colours. Yes I found the decals too! I will take loads of inspiration from your example. Regards Colin
  17. @Eric Mc it's actually Gormanston not town a common mis spelling, located north of Dublin in Co Meath. However, 162 was delivered July 30th 1951 at Baldonnel Aerodrome and entered service (as did all 6 of the Tr 9's the Air Corps had) with 'B' Flight Air Corps Flying Training School at Baldonnel. It was transferred in 1955 to No.1 Fighter Squadron (I think still in Baldonnel but not sure) and withdrawn from use June 6th1960 and transferred to the Technical Training Squadron as an Instructor Airframe. It was sold in the UK in 1968 and again in 1979 this time to Strathallen Museum. It was restored to an airworthy condition as G-LFIX. I don't know current condition or whereabouts. Information from "The Irish Air Corps an Illustrated Guide" Joe Maxwell & Patrick J. Cummins. May 2009 ISBN 978-0-9562624-0-0. I have more info on the Tr 9's and will happily share if you ask. Regards Colin
  18. Lovely build Miguel, I too looked at the references I have for IAC aircraft but could not find any showing upper wings of 162. Did find one for 161 and it showed Green pointing inward towards fuselage both sides. I'm gathering a stash of IAC models, builds to commence once my 1:1 house build is done. Getting decals is not easy and to this point I am getting some printed in Poland. Let me know what diameter and kit scale they are for your Spit and I can add a set to my order once we have finalized all the designs. No guarantee the colour will match. My stash doesn't include a Tr 9 Spit (well not yet) but does include most of the others. @CH-53D do you have many IAC kits in your stash and how have you been finding it trying to get the correct Decals? Regards Colin
  19. Nice one Dave. Love the paint job especially around the exhausts. Colin
  20. I like this one lovely paint job and agree the figures set it off. Colin
  21. @hairystick why they were called Stills! Why stills you ask well they were still electric eels! Too early for the Dad jokes...sorry!😂
  22. I know that saying @JohnT. Yes getting paid is always a problem. I had a similar issue when working for myself. I agreed a Fee for professional services for another professional firm. Delivered and when it came to payment, they tried to start horse trading over the fee. Bluntly told them I wasn't selling Carpets out the back of a Transit and that we had an agreed price. Incidentally this was the firm I had previously worked for before I went out on my own. I did end up discounting my fee by 5% to get paid (cash flow and all that). It was a good lesson learned and the next work I did for them I added the 5% into my fee. My Brother has a similar problem getting paid so his solution as he does a lot of repeat service type of work was to work of retainers where his clients would buy chunks of time from him in advance and dray down on it each they needed his services. Great solution as you it puts you in a better cash flow position but doesn't suite all business models/services and can be hard to get people to basically pay in advance. He breaks it up into small parcels so neither party is exposed too much. Colin
