  1. I think you might be correct there Dcrfan. The '$' sign for the Argentine Peso threw me. That being the case it looks like only US$ 6.32. Now that's a better price. I'll see what they say about the shipping/postage cost.
  2. That price can't be correct. I've emailed them for confirmation. Will keep you posted.
  3. Thanks for that, I think it is in 1/72 scale, was looking for 1/48 and I saw a few mins ago an Xtradecal sheet (Egyptian & Argy too) but it too was 1/72. At least now I know I wasn't going gaga. I think I will post on Wanted to see what turns up. Thanls again Colin
  4. I need some assistance from the great Britmodeller collective (yes resistance is futile!). I saw a set of decals for the Avro Lancaster in Argentinian colours. At least I think I did. It was post WWII I think. Does anyone know if such a decal set exists and if so could you share any details (manufacture, where they might be found etc.). I hope they do exist and I'm not going completely gaga😁 Kind Regards Colin
  5. Welcome to the forum, I think your choice of topic for your current and future builds is a great one. Best of luck with it look forward to seeing the results.
  6. Welcome to the forum DiveBomber. Look forward to seeing your pics. Regards Colin
  7. Love it Pete, or you could just build it as you wish, use whatever schemes, colours etc. you see fit. No matter what way you go just enjoy yourself. Colin
  8. Hi Bill, Welcome, I will be building mostly Irish Air Corps in 1/72 & 1/48, huge collection of formidable aircraft to choose from 😆. However, I do have 2 ships in my stash USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 & USS Momsen DDG-92, won't be getting to them for a while yet. You will enjoy it here and as you can see from the above posts some light heartiness and a sense of humor go a long way. Regards Colin Irish by birth Texan by the grace of God
  9. Welcome Virgilio, I've found the Forum and it's members very helpful. Enjoy. Regards Colin
  10. Kits I'd like to see in 1/72 and/or 1/48 Aircraft Martinsyde Type A Mk II Vickers Type 193 Vespa IV Vickers Type 208 Vespa V Avro 636 These were mostly small or limited production runs in some cases only 4 were ever built. Helicopter AgustaWestland AW 139 All were and in the case of the AW139 flown by the Irish Air Corps. If anyone was ever looking for a 3D printing project, I'd be happy to help out with research etc. Are you listening Santa, The Easter Bunny and/or the Tooth Fairy😁 I promise I'll be good. Colin
  11. Thanks Rory, I think I've got the kits sorted, got a long nose version for the Dauphin and the other bits and pieces for this and the other ones I think I will be ok (with a bit of work), now the Decals are a whole other issue. Still trying to find 1/72 for these Helos. Colin
  12. Thank you all for the responses very helpful. I figured this was going to be either major surgery or a scratch build. That will be for much later on after I tackle the current stash of IAC aircraft I have. I found a Whirlybirds Sikorsky S-61N (in UN livery) and the hunt goes on for the elusive IAC decals to complete. Ones I'm having difficulty with are the 1/72 Dauphin, Pilatus PC-9 & the Eurocopeters AS355N & EC135. Other than that the gathering continues in prep for the completion of new house in a couple of months then it's on with the kit building. Regards
  13. Hi Bob, There is an article in Scale Aircraft Modelling Vol 10 issue 03 December 1987 which has an article on Avro Anson's Mks I to X (does have photos) & Warpaint # 53 is on the same topic again with Photos. If these aren't in your resources PM me. Regards Colin
  14. Welcome Ian, I'm down a similar rabbit hole. My area if interest is 1/72 & 1/48 Aircraft flown by the Irish Air Corp, don't let the location fool you I'm a 5 generation Dubliner who now lives in Texas. I'm currently on my 1:1 build new house and gathering my stash. Won't be starting till that is finished and we have moved in. I am enjoying the gathering and research and second your comment re the help and support I've received here. There are so many of us here who have returned to the hobby after a long break and learning all the new stuff (weathering, aftermarket parts etc.) Regards Colin
  15. Welcome Zsolt, those are very nice builds, you should post them it the "Ready for Inspection" section for everyone to marvel at. Hi Collin (with 2 LL's) 😁ours are lovely too and I assume you have posted these to the "Ready for Inspection" section too. Regards Colin (with 1 L)😄
  16. A good ol' Texan Welcome to ya Aelius. Trying out this Texan/southern speak😄 Regards Colin
  17. Richard Welcome from East Texas.
  18. George you should get to work on getting the number of your posts up then you will be able to post on/reply to the wanted and for sale sections. Might help you reduce any of your stash you are not going to build. Colin
  19. Welcome George from down here in Texas. I'm down a rabbit hole at present too but I think I see light or is it someone with a torch bring me more kits that I see😁 I too am returning to the hobby and have resolved to the fact I'll be starting from the very beginning. My area if interest is Irish Air Corps (IAC) aircraft in 1/72 & 1/48 with a couple of ships thrown in for good measure. I have found the forum great for inspiration, guidance and advise. I've even found some of the kits and elusive IAC decals I was looking for. Hope you enjoy yourself here, with your modelling and with your retirement. Regards Colin
  20. Thanks Troy appreciate all your insights and advice. Colin
  21. That's what I was thinking and have a few cheap ones in the stash to start on to brush-up or realistically learn from scratch the skills I'll need. Thanks for confirming. I will do Rory. Thanks all for the replies, reinforced what I was thinking, just need to check there wasn't something I was missing. Going to take it baby steps and to answer your question Pete Hairy Stick to begin with, airbrushing will be later I have a 1/350 kit of the USS Kitty Hawk to do (huge Aircraft carrier) that I think will need airbrushing. Regards Colin
  22. I haven't built a model for over 40 years and am getting back into hobby. Collecting Stash and almost complete and waiting on new house to be completed so I can start. I'll be modelling mostly Irish Air Corps (IAC) aircraft in scale 1/72 & 1/48 with a mixture of Bi planes, propellor and Jet Fixed wing and some Rotary ones as well. Can anyone recommend what would be a good kit(s) to practice on as I don't want to mess up my stash getting my techniques up to par, IAC colour schemes are quite simple and weathering won't be too complicated either or does it really matter? Regards Colin
