  1. Small hole and shot gun pellets sounds like the cure to me. Super glue or epoxy, don't use white glue. Epoxy probably preferred, no chance of white mist in the canopy.
  2. That chicken thing... Here, we know it as Chicken Parmigiana, or a Parmie. A menu staple for pub counter lunches all over this Great Southern Land, alongside such other delicacies as crumbed prawns, crumbed steak and a 'mixed salad' (wth THAT is.) In posh places, you'll be offered the Parmie with added garlic butter... INSIDE! Quite something, impresses the sheilas no end when you order that, it shows a bit of class. Feral cats... Can't you shoot them? There is no such thing as a benign cat, unless it's dead. I'd rather have cockroaches. Pete, my passport is safe. I may not praise the Hunter, but I have taken photos of Stonehenge.
  3. 'Oh, shorry. It'sh an OMISHION - you forgot the fluffy dice in the windshcreen." Edit: bentwaters is correct, the word should be 'dische'.
  4. Rich, STOP IT. You come up with way too many good GB ideas. Add me. I have several 262s in Der Stashe, including an old 72th Matchbox one which will probably be my entry for this build.
  5. And suddenly, a GB starts! Dagnab it, I haven't finished any of the others I've started, and this is one I really want to start (and finish!). <sigh> Where's The Ticktockman when you need him, eh?
  6. or Brockadores, which weren't (HOs, my good chap. Blue oval through and through.)
  7. were there were no GTOs (let's get back on topic)
  8. Nice work Radleigh - the 5th one down is killer (QANTAS A380 from the port front). Those long twilights you get way up there make for great photographic light, with lots of time to wait for the perfect framing. I'm in the tropics, twilight doesn't last longer than half an hour, even at midsummer! This time of year, 10 minutes is about it. I should make the effort to pop over to the local, it's literally 2 minutes away...
  9. but it wasn't heaven, it was paradise by the dashboard light
  10. Oh good grief, another GB under way. Will someone please stop the world! I'll start a thread when I start a thread... which may be never.
  11. This will ruffle feathers, no doubt (sorry that I'm late...) I like my military aircraft to look like thugs, tough, blunt and unmovable. Hence my preference for the Hurricane over the Spitfire, and my mild dislike of the Hunter. Although a 'nice' aircraft, it's too pretty. Effete. It doesn't look like it can do anything more than give you a good talking to, maybe while brandishing a bowler hat in a vaguely aggressive manner. I'm afraid (although in no way apologetic) that my vote goes to Lightnings, Javelins and Sea Vixens, all of which look like they mean business. Even Meteors have a more aggressive stance than Hunters. So take it from me PC, being a Brit doesn't automatically mean that you have to like Hunters. I was born there, and I don't.
  12. off, dropped it on the driveway and went to buy a sensible, girl's car, not an oversized lard bucket on wheels, with a boat anchor engine and a truck gearbox. Returning home later that afternoon with a Nissan Micra in her handbag...
  13. I'm not saying that there were no roundels under the wings when it was in the UK, but serving Hawks are bare under there. This may be of use. http://www.kitreview.com/reviews/hawkdecalreviewbg_1.htm I have that sheet in 72nd, it comes with 4 roos only, and the guys who were behind AD seldom got things wrong. Sadly, it's long out of production.
  14. Not a sausage guys, sorry. I've been away at work for the last 2 weeks so nowts been done to anything. I'll be home Friday morning, so with luck I'll get some free time to myself and I'll be able to get on with the plastic bashing - this beast and an F-16 need finising PDQ or else I'll miss yet more GB deadlines! Thanks for the interest!
  15. Two things, neither a criticism. I had one of these kits until a few years ago, decided that I'd never be able to do it justice and sold it for more than I'd paid for it. I'll be following along. Also, for those moments of downtime, I highly recommend the book 'Don't Tell Mum I Work on the Rigs, She Thinks I'm a Piano Player in a Whorehouse' by Paul Carter. Very funny, even if you know nothing about oil or heavy industry in general. No doubt the real oilmen here will scoff, but I very much enjoyed it.
  16. I'd assumed 1/72 for some odd reason. Ignore me, I've never built a 48th F-16 from anyone!
  17. I'm building a couple of the Italeri ones, and haven't had any real issues with construction so far. That said, it's not the best shapewise, and the Revell one is better detailed. I have several of each, can't comment on Revell's buildability as I haven't started one yet.
