  1. I think you’re really enjoying this one mate. You definitely did the right thing leaving some the kit parts on the tubes for the brass - looking great
  2. Hey mate, that's turned out really well, I love it Brian
  3. Absolutely stunning Mick in every respect, build, paint & finish and photography, thanks for the whole journey Brian
  4. Congratulations on her completion mate - stunning
  5. She’s looking stunning mate, and that base really sets it off. If I hadn’t had the news I had today I would have got some paint on mine tonight!
  6. Looking great mate, making massive progress now. I'm trying to do likewise with my JO'B
  7. I was wondering when this would get post and now over the moon to see it. After at least a year from cracking the box open, since the lockdown, I am now getting back to building my own floaty thing, my liberty ship. I will never call you ship modellers again fighting all of those brass add-ons, I'm with you brothers and daren't breathe in too hard in case I inhale some vital parts. Great to see this ship mate!
  8. Be patient with this kit you should be rewarded with a really nice looking car at the end of it. I was really chuffed with the end result considering the age of the kit. Cheers Brian

    Perth show.

They certainly did specials at last year's Scale Scotland and I know they have at Telford so here's hoping
  10. Great work Simon, and pleased you are starting to see some positive results at shows. Don't be down on yourself if you don't score in comps, you know as well as any how fickle judging can be and it's often not a fair playing field with a lot of categories being mixed and amalgamated. When someone tells you how they enjoy looking at your model and compliments your skill, to me it means a lot more than a piece of paper from a view of a judge in a competition. Just keep knocking them out, post them on here for us to admire or display on a club table at a show, you know you're more than welcome to display your work that you're not entering on the Washington Club stand.
  11. JD I am more than impressed with your build skills thus far and cannot wait to see this turret and ultimately the full vehicle come together. One amazing and inspiring scratch-build project. Thanks for sharing Brian
  12. A cracking finish to a beautiful looking ship
  13. First time at Bolton for Washington Model Club but would love to come back next year. Brilliant show with the best selection of traders and club displays I’ve seen at a one day show in years. Great venue, a little cold down stairs but we were lucky enough to be upstairs. Big thanks to all the organisers Brian
  14. Well done again mate, catch up with you soon on your release from HMP Nissan
  15. Green mastery at it's best mate. You just gotta love a Miniart kit, yes you've got to coz they give me nightmares, as well you know.
  16. Just like to echo what Keith (Beefy66) has said from a Washington Model Club point of view. We always enjoy this show and the welcome we get from Bruce and the team. To win the best display is always and added bonus and I'd like to confirm the trophy arrived safe and sound, thank you very much. See you again next October when we return it . Brian
  17. Maybe they're just trying to keep the rif raf out!...………………………………………… I'll get my coat. Washington Model Club will be making the trip North once again for our last display of the year. Cheers Brian ps you should never get upset with the result of a competition, after all it's just an opinion and everyone has different views (thankfully) Modelling isn't life or death and if you're pleased with your result, it's a success and if someone else likes it, it's a bonus. Model for yourself and your own enjoyment
  18. Great show again lads and lasses of Keighley Club, a good day had by the Washington mob, wins in the competition, tombola and 2/3 prizes in the fantastic raffle. Really happy to attend this show again, shame about the weather which sometimes hinders shows and also the cycle event with road closures that may have put a lot of people off. For those of us that made it, a massive thank you! Cheers Brian
  19. Beautiful work mate, look forward to seeing this in the flesh (plastic) s Brian
  20. Good to finally see your work on here Simon. Next step to get you to one of our meets on a Thursday, I know how you're pushed for time with work and home-life, the invitation is an open one. See you soon Brian
  21. Just to echo what has already been said by Dave and Keith from us Washington guys. It is always a pleasure to visit this show, with the welcome we always receive from the friendliest hosts on the circuit IMHO. Thanks again to Kevin and all the hard working guys that have made this show happen for the last eight years. See you next year in Driffield and I'm sure at a few more shows in between. Brian
  22. Beautiful picture of both of them mate, it is with a lump in my throat at my desk that I type this as I know what a little stunner she was and how much she'll be missed
  23. Well done mate, another one for the show table this year Cheers - Brian
  24. Congratulations mate, you've got there in the end and truly done her justice and I knowhow she fought you all the way BK
