  1. Cheers Cracking on, I've done a bit today. I painted up the pilot and interior of the craft. Once it's all had a few hours to dry fully I'll glue it together and proceed with the window.
  2. A little progress. I've made up the base and painted the two little stormtroopers
  3. Some project this is! The force be with you!

WOW! This is superb! Aliens is one of my all time favorite films
  5. WOW! Amazing work. I look forward to your next progress update.
  6. Cheers Warren, I've been quietly following both your builds in this GB and must say, I'm in awe! Especially of that HUGE falcon! That's just made of pure win! Dan
  7. Thanks Phil. Yours look great too! the blue especially. I'm thinking now I should go over mine again with a gloss or satin varnish for a better effect... matt was probably not my best decision, I found it a real challenge getting subtle painted highlights down nicely and the final matt coat all but obliterated them :/
  8. I've wanted to make one of these for a good while now... So, I'm going to do just that! Depending on how well it turns out I might have a crack at the Vader version and/or an X-Wing too. But then I'm thinking to myself..... Why no Warhammer 40,000?! In a Sci Fi GB!! This wont do!! So maybe I'll do something about that after this one instead.
  9. I've managed to finish good old spidey! Turned out to be not so 'Amazing' in the end. I lost steam with him tbh. He was perched on the end of my desk for ages in an unfinished state whilst I worked on two World Cup commissions that came in and I never really got back the enthusiasm I had for finishing. Ah well, least he's done... Onwards and upwards Pics in the gallery.
  10. That's a winner for sure I have to ask... did you set out to build it in this way? Or did you cock it up somewhere along the way, and then decide to do it up as a scrapper? Either way it's a great result! And where's the turf from?
  11. French sports stars killed in Argentina helicopter crash Two helicopters carrying passengers filming a popular European reality show have crashed in north-west Argentina, killing 10 people, including Olympic gold medal swimmer Camille Muffat, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and yachtswoman Florence Arthaud. http://www.itv.com/news/story/2015-03-10/french-sports-stars-killed-in-argentina-helicopter-crash/ A truly tragic accident. R.I.P.
  12. Star Trek never did float my boat, but the ships are cool as you like. I'll look forward to watching this progress.
  13. How does that little known saying go again?? Keep calm and carry on or something or another Little tests like that make a model all the more rewarding I say. I'm sure it'll look great and I'll be following with great interest. It's such an iconic machine and one I'd like to have a go at myself some day.
  14. Thanks again 'tis coming along strongly now. I decided to try and black in all the webbing with a fine brush and a steady hand! Barring a few small mistakes it's turning out ok but it's very slow going and having to hold my breath each time I paint in a line I reckon I've definitely starved my brain of oxygen in the 2 hours or so I've been at it today!! Ha With the lines in, it's dulled the red down too much so I'll highlight the sections that catch light with an orangey red mix once this mamoth task is done, then tidy up the blue and add highlights there too. Then it's varnish and done
  15. Looking forward to the end result myself too. Why is this kit so damn expensive?! One guy is after £155 plus 20 odd quid post! And even the cheapest is £71
  16. Cheers! I agree, it should look pretty good when done. And that'll likely be in the next few days! Remarkable considering I haven't finished a model in months! Contemplating whether or not to attempt all the black lines with a fine brush or cheat and buy a fine black pen! I've just this minute blacked in around the eyes after spraying the red earlier today.
  17. No messing about with this one I've gone and got it roughly together.... My first time working with a vinyl kit and I'm a fan! Already the first round of filler is drying and there'll be lots more because of big steps and gaps all over! No doubt my own fault for putting it together so quickly. One thing that definitely didn't help was breaking my heat gun right away, I dropped it on a hard tile floor smashing all the ceramic in the nozzle! It'll be done before long I reckon. Already I have my eyes on an emperor class battleship that could be next. And then I got a pair of star wars kits and a huge amount of 40K. Decisions, decisions.
  18. I'll play! And I'm in with this.... From an unknown maker in the far east... Cost less than £20 on ebay. Hopefully I'll turn it into a half decent model of the web slinger! EXCELSIOR!
  19. Without doubt it's a stunning model. Very well done! As for the aircraft itself... Ugly as hell! How anyone can see it as oherwise is beyond me. But to each their own
