  1. Just come across this article! Good to see photograph's like these. I served twice at Mount Pleasant, 1987 & 1991. Something that's not always seen on models, is that the Phantom's only carried Sky flash missiles on forward points & left rear mountings empty! I was told was to save weight, but someone might know different? Dave
  2. Excellent photo finds Markus! Wish I could find some photo's of the 357th with those occupational marking on! Dave
  3. 'Bud' sadly passed away yesterday aged 102, RIP, blue sky's! Dave
  4. Hi Charlie, depends on which airframe you are making. Most MK5's carried the mounting pylons during their life. I'm currently making a Falklands MK5 & will scratch build ones for mine. There are good photo's in the walk round section of the pylons, wiring is external & again can be scratch built. Dave
  5. Looking for photo's of MK5 Seakings during the Falklands conflict. Just wondering if any ex FAA 'pingers' had any? I know they were newish helicopters then & that some a/c had their cabins emptied for cargo duties. Looking for a subject to model when new Airfix kit is available!!
  6. Looking good Mike, only comment is the pilots seats. the seat part should be a creamy colour, as seats normally had a sheepskin type cover, back part was usually orange! Cant wait to get one myself soon! Dave
  7. Anyine built one yet? If so, does it need nose weight? Dave
  8. with the new 1/72nd Zeveda C-130H Hercules coming out, maybe some RAF schemes of the past? Especially the 25th anniversary scheme from the 90's!
  9. I obtained a copy couple of weeks ago, great book so much information. Where they got it from amazes me! I sat in a SU-27 at Leuchars in '92 & the exact one is listed in the book. Managed to get a good priced copy via Amazon. Think a model will be done sometime soon now!! Dave
  10. EH101 (later AW101!!) looking good! I made PP5 few years ago when a kit first became available along with all the other pre-production '101's. They all on show at the AW factory now. Anyway, i'll be watching your build with interest. Dave
  11. thanks Mike, nothing there unfortunately!
  12. Looking for photos of the Victor, XL190, which had the 'teeth' added. Hope someone knows of any photo's? Dave
  13. opps, please delete!!
  14. Looking for photos of the Victor which had the 'teeth' markings applied, any one help? Dave
